My word this thread is slowing DOWN! (In terms of posts, not weight loss!) Starting to wonder if we started this challenge at the wrong time of year. Should have waited until Spring when it's warmer and we can eat salads and actually want to go outside!
I was planning on weighing in this morning after all. I feel a lot better about everything, but decided to hold off another week. Making changes to my diet/activity over what feels good instead of what will bring the lb off has made me happier, I don't want to find out it's not effecting the scales in the same way:o
But on a small victory the dress I'm wearing today was a little tight at the top of my arms the last time a wore it, however today it's really loose and I can RAISE MY ARMS :T (exactly like this in victory)
Well done on avoiding scales temptation Cinny, proud of you
Ah but come spring you want to be wearing little dresses and have your arms and legs out.... I want those to be thinner, more toned limbs - more gazelle in drag than hippo. If you don't start until spring you're going to loose it as autumn draws in and all your good work is hidden under layers of knitwear.... so then you overeat as it's winter... if you can eat well through summer hopefully you'll have built it into a habit by the time the cold comes. Or that's my theory when I want to reach for the comfort food. Can't have salads to warm you up, but you can have soup at this time of year.
About to weigh in, but I forgot... so this will be a weigh in with 2ft of damp hair and after breakfast (yoghurt and fruit, back on the band wagon again but I really wish it had been warm). Does anyone have any ideas for sub 200 calorie breakfasts that are warm that aren't porridge? I'm terrible for basically having a small lunch for breakfast just so it's warm!haras_nosirrah wrote: »I think when peoples weight loss starts slowing down they get demotivated.
I am going to say why this journey is important to me
My name is Sarah and I am committed to losing weight. Since this thread started I have lost 21lb and overall since starting my weight loss challenge on nov 14th I have lost 31lb of my 84lb target.
I am being sponsored by friends and family with the proceeds going to children in need (so far about £500 if I hit my 6 stone goal)
Overall the main reason for doing this is I want to have a second baby and having gone through it at nearly 16 stone and ending up quite ill I am desperate not to do it again as an obese person
I am using the wed weigh in as a kick up the butt without having to pay £5 a week to stand on a pair of scales
Wow that's a brilliant challenge! What a good choice of charity too. I lost a lot of weight after my first pregnancy as I was told it would help me the second time. I was 158lbs after DD and I was 125lbs before I fell pregnant with DS. I was a lot less ill the second time, I still didn't make it to term, only an extra 8 days in fact, but the first time I was in real danger of long term damage or even dying, the second time I wasn't ill, little man just wasn't getting enough through the cord.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

First weigh in for 2 weeks, and I'm a STS
Fairly happy with that, as I'm sure I've been eating too much and know I've not been moving enough.Cheryl0 -

His missus reporting in with a gain of 0.5lb
We're away all weekend too so not too hopeful for next week either.0 -
Happy weigh in day ladies!
Haras - I nearly asked you about your username the other day because it was intriguing me but I too have now cracked it - although I wouldn't have made the link without Birdie mentioning it. You have done brilliantly so far, well done!
I am over the moon to report a 2lb loss this week after two duff weeks. Ironically I have done far less exercise this week and had my first cheat (half a portion of fish and chips) so maybe that has given my metabolism a boost, who knows! Either that or I'm defying the laws of science! Have been sticking to plan religiously otherwise though and have cut down the snacking so all good.
I also love the idea of sharing our motivation! For me, although I do want to bring my weight down so that it is comfortably within the 'normal' range rather than hovering round the top, it is more about getting healthier and stronger. It's looking like I will be referred for IVF next month and past surgery for cervical cancer means pregnancy would be high risk, so want to make sure I'm giving myself the best possible chance. Hope that isn't oversharing
Dinah - could you warm some fruit maybe and have it with yoghurt or granola of some sort (I know that's generally pretty calorific but imagine there are alternatives out there) Or what about eggs if you have time for them? I know people who have warm milk on regular cereal like shreddies or weetabix although it doesn't do it for me I have to say...
Also have been meaning to say if you ever want a hand with the spreadsheet just say the word, I am a spreadsheet geek so it would be my idea of fun and I could probably get away with it at work as long as no-one here tells on meBarclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
