Weekends are definitely my downfall too
Wine (though I did have a 5.5% one) crisps (because they were on offer, tut tut!) and not very active due to the weather.
I did have a mad batch cooking session and have filled the freezer with lots of healthy meals.0 -
Hi All
Thought I would just catch up with how everyone is getting on and it seems on the whole not too bad
I have sort of stayed on track (ish) Not done that much exercise as its been so cold and icy here:( Cant even be bothered to get out of bed in the mornings let alone run :DBut food intake has been not too bad apart from the chips I had
But never mind roll on Wednesday and I will know if they have done any damage.

Well I have well and truly screwed up since Thursday
I have eaten rubbish, I am 4 days behind on the 30 day squat challenge and my motivation just totally went.
Not helped by my husband been in a sulky mood because he has a bit of a cold and his work moving this week, so I will have to do ALL of the midweek housework and ALL of the ferrying daughter to and from her clubs losing me all my weekday me time which is my only potential time for midweek exercise.
Add to that the juggling to get meals on the table for all 3 of us at different times to suit all our requirements is going to take a lot more work on my behalf.
But on the positive side, it's monday morning and I'm barely going to see him till Saturday and so far today I have eaten healthily, got a healthy lunch in the work fridge and healthy fruit for afternoon desk snack. Also a healthy dinner in the slow cooker for when I get home.Zebras rock0 -
Morning everyone, I had a very snack filled day yesterday (mainly sweet and salty popcorn, my new addiction) plus mother nature has arrived in full force so I have no energy to do anything even though I am taking iron supplements.
Made a big batch of veg and bean soup yesterday so that will do me for the week and I have a sausage casserole in the slow cooker for tonight and will just make some mash and mixed veg to go with it when I get in. Having a break from the workouts tonight too as I only have to do 4 this week for some reason. I'm actually kind of enjoying it in a weird way as I can see that its changing my body shape and I'm getting stronger but I still can't enjoy burpees or flutter kicks no matter how many they force me to do!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
I did my first run of the couch to 5k this morning and definitely have a challenge on my hands but I enjoyed it! However - I then came into the kitchen to prepare this evenings food for the slow cooker and the raw chicken I was handling made me vomit several times into the sink which I'm putting down to the exercise as I don't usually have much of a problem with raw meat? I guess there's a first for everythingDestash Challenge: 0/100

Had an ok weekend. Took the dog for a long walk on Saturday and had some me time on Sunday as was feeling too well. Feeling great today though weird huh?
Also made some Vegetable soup which was very tasty and had it for dinner Sat and lunch Sun, rest has gone into the freezer for last minute lunches. (I tend to take in LO from dinner for my lunch so it is handy to have something in the freezer that I can take out if what I am having is not reheatable).
Everyone is doing so well with the exercise, I am just trying to gradually build up my workouts/activity levels at the moment I am in awe. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

I really want a Fitbit
I think it will spur me into doing more as I'd want to see the results on the screen and see that I'm hitting a target. Also want it for the sleep tracker as I'm sure I spend half the night awake so it'd be interesting to see how much proper sleep I actually get. Would be good if OH got one too and we could see who wakes up whom when we both have bad nights!
Think I'll treat myself in a couple of paydays time when I finally have some spare money!
I've just been thinking about the fact that I'm 30 in May  I really don't want to be blobby for it so that has to serve as motivation to lose weight!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. If you want to rely on a FitBit for step count be careful which model you get. I'm a member on a diet and fitness website, where there are a number of members who own these - and there are regular reports (latest in the last fes days) of the Flex and Charge (wristband models) counting arm waving as steps, while the Zip or One (clip to bra or clothing?) don't.
I use a Heart Rate Monitor to get accurate calorie burn. I used to have one with a GPS unit, but it wasn't good at keeping a signal to track me in many of the areas I went to. I then used a MapMy??? app on a phone, but that was reliant on a mobile internet signal (so didn't work in places like the Lakes and still dropped out elsewhere). I now use a GPS unit which was a hefty investment, but by far the best thing I've used for tracking distance covered.
I've also used an App on my phone for sleep tracking - though I admit I wasn't overly happy with this given the (albeit small) number of reports of phones overheating and exploding/starting fires when caught in bedding (I had to put it under my pillow or alongside me under my quilt for it to work).Cheryl0 -
I got a Garmin Vivofit a few weeks ago and I am quite happy with this. It isn't too sensitive I just did a test with hand waves and no change on step count screen.
It links to MFP and has its own app. I prefer using their own app though as it seems to talk to MFP more then MFP talks to Garmin. Not sure why though? That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!
