My OH lost 1.5 stone on 5:2 diet and intermittently does a fast day now to maintain weight - However he NEVER did consecutive days. Usefulofficial website here
My DD2 said I 'looked different' today - in a good way.......maybe something is working:D
Your OH has done fantastic! I hope I have the same success. The BBC2 suggested version has a higher calorie allowance on your fasting days but you do the days consecutively.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

I noticed the higher calorie reference - when I eventually start on the 5:2 diet ( need to get a few more things organised in my life first and I have plenty of weight to lose!) I thought I would start at about 600 - 800 calories as I think I wouldnt cope on 500 at first and I wont be doing consecutive days..........OH said it was hard at first but after 2 weeks fine but he tended to go to bed early on a fast day as he said it was a 'joy' to get up the next morning and know he could eat 'normally' He doesn't think he could have done it on consecutive days. He also didnt fast on a day when he was going to be more physically active than usual and for the first 2/3 weeks he was as grumpy as hell on fast days:rotfl::rotfl:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I was veggie for about 6 years, Quorn is marketed as tasting like certain meats so I would expect it to look similar too - I'm sure my eyes would confuse my brain otherwise. Plus we like to eat things that appear natural even if they're heavily processed. I was never bothered by it looking like meat, I like the taste I just didn't like the source so this was a way to get the taste in a method I was happy with. But I wasn't the best veggie given I only lasted 6 years before turning to bacon and roast chicken in a moment of blissful weakness.
Struggling with the diet the last couple of days. (Men can turn away now). TOTM here and since my last baby it's been very, very heavy so I feel absolutely exhausted, so I've been overeating just to try to give me the energy to stay awake. Rubbish reasoning when iron tablets might give the same result.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I have had 800 calories today, 3 very small meals of meat and veg (bacon and mushrooms for breakfast, wafer thin beef and tomato and veg mix for lunch, then pork loin and roast veg for dinner) I read that you should avoid most carbs on a fast day.
I think I am going to have an early night tonight, I don't feel bad but I'm thinking tomorrow will be difficult as work always makes me tired, and I have another fasting day to get through. I am already looking forward to breakfast tomorrow, even though its what I normally have!
I read somewhere that people get the symptoms they expect with the fasting diet, so I have been telling myself why none of those symptoms would apply to me (grumpy - my OH already says I'm grumpy, so no change there, faint - I've never felt faint in my life and I've been ill for several days before and not ate and I didn't faint etc etc) and I think it might be working :rotflLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Thanks for the answers re the wii fit everyone. I'm hoping to get going on it tomorrow, that's if it's still working, has batteries etc etc. am quite looking forward to it now, especially as I've had a bad weekend.
Chinese and can of coke. Boooo. No will power. And I'd completely forgotten about the step so I can do it whilst the TV is on. Also I have got the Zumba so maybe once I'm a little fitter I'll give it a go.

EverTheOptimist, I successfully used the Wii fit to accompany a healthyish eating stint back in 2012 and managed to lose 2 stone in around 4 months so will say it is definitely a good starting point, I think I was using it for 30mins - 1hr most days. iirc, there is a more grown-up work out section on there if you get bored of the 'fun' stuff (hula hooping/skiing etc!)Destash Challenge: 0/100

I really need more will power over the weekend! Not terrible again, but far from good!
At least yesterday we did an hour-ish long walk and I had the baby (22lbs!) strapped to me so it was pretty good exercise!
I can't believe that I still haven't turned on Just Dance! I must do it this week!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Hope that little jumping guy means a good outcome!
I'm totally expecting a STS this week. This week hasn't been my best effort and with coming up to TOTM, I never lose weight even with the best intentions!
I can't remember who said about their options of weight-loss treats being limited. But what about DIY pamper nights? You can make awesome masks from things in your kitchen cupboards, along with scrubs and hair treatments. Pick your favourite movie, cook a (healthyyyish version) of your favourite tea etc? No idea what made these thoughts pop in my head this morning
OH bought me a fitbit over the weekend, so it's having it's first full day today! Used it to track my sleep last night and got a really pathetic 4hrs 22mins of sleep  But I really hurt my arm yesterday and the pain was keeping me up. Walked 7 miles, and 4 were with my right arm trying to keep a very excited 40kg dog under control (for 2 hours ) so I basically did 2 hours of weight resistance on one arm which would explain the pain
Definitely burnt some calories with the baby-walk, Birdie! You probably burn more than you think pushing his pram around too. Have a feeling that a lot of us will be doing damage control over the next two days :rotfl:
Set up the Wii in our bedroom yesterday (no space in the living room) so I'm going to test the set up later to Zumba! Planning on taking Ryder on a long walk too, and then just have housework to do which I hope will keep me busy and not snacking. OH is out for "team bonding" with work this evening so has kindly gifted me one of the HelloFresh meals to make for myself. Solo Night!0 -

But I'm really difficult to find things like this for
I actually have face masks in my toiletry stash - bought with all intention of using them, but which just ended up at the back of a cupboard / bottom of a box. I'm currently trying to use up toiletries, to which end I used a face mask last week - and found that I still don't enjoy the experience! It just feels like wasted time to meSo does colouring my hair (which I do once every 3 months at best), and even more so defuzzing underams (which fortunately doesn't need doing much more often - just thankful I never have need to do my legs due to having very short, fine and pale hairs, as I think I'd go mad spending all that time on them
). Most of my female family / friends / acquaintances / ex work colleagues find it hard to believe I really don't like to pamper and preen, and only wear make-up for very special outings, with it being very natural and bare minimum even then.
Even 'favourite movie' doesn't really work, as I only have myself to please with viewing choices every night (bar Saturday when OH is here and we work our way through an old box set - about to finish off series 1 of M@gnum, then moving onto the entire set of Knight Rid3r which will take us about 6 months at 1 disk a week) and watch DVDs on pretty much a daily basis (no TV signal/licence, so DVDs or streaming services only here). It really is great being able to put on a film (or TV show) whenever I'm in the mood for it without having to worry about other family membersBut it does mean my favourite films are regular viewing material, and wouldn't really be anything special.
