Not chuffed with Tesco for bringing me a bag of dried mango instead of 3 whole pineapples though, bizarre substitution and doesn't help me follow the plan!
Haha we once ordered Quorn burgers and they substituted them for.....BEEF burgers :rotfl:

Or if you're a bit more visual pinterest idea 1 and 2

And for those who like a bit of a treat and struggle to make that not mean wine/chocolate/takeaway. Idea 3

Love the pebbles idea - I will be putting £'s in a pot for every lb lost:D Which will go towards something nice every now and then along the way - leg wax, new underwear etc etc

Will you be posting the chart each week Dinah?

I went out for a run today, but felt the same way as Tete. Had to stop twice in 30 min, I did run 3 half marathons last year so not really sure what the matter is. Managed a bit over 5k. Yesterday I did 30 min on treadmill too.

I can't be trusted with sweets so I have nothing in the house right now. I'm going to allow myself a mug of hot chocolate every evening, very low calorie one.

As for treats, I'm having massages. All from the local version of groupon. No more clothes for me till I'm back in my size 10s.

Have you thought of subbing rice and past with couscous or quinoa? Much lower and calories and I think quinoa is one of the best foods you can eat - full of vitamins and protein. I'm aiming to make a lot of roasted veg couscous and quinoa salads

Have still got half a bag of quinoa in my cupboard - loved it in an M&S salad I had once but when I cooked some in stock ended up eating it as a side just as I would rice, and didn't inspire me much... Think I need to get a little more imaginative as both your suggestions sound great, Tete. Will google when I have a bit of time, and any pointers gratefully received!

Did 20 lengths at pool today, and also MSE as used an old voucher we had from when kids had a swimming lesson cancelled, allowing us a free family swim, still have another two to use!

  • Fantastic start by everyone good to see what everyone is doing. We are about the same Samizel so you might be my inspiration. :)

I'm carrying injuries so a bit limited in movement but I'm joining a pool / gym tomorrow, expensive and goes against moneysaving but I've switched 2 phones and save myself about £40 a month so hey ho. With me it's routine if I can build in the swimming each day before work I'll do it. Good luck everyone.

Thanks for the reminder about hot choc, I was meaning to do that too so need to stock up on some little Options sachets tomorrow :)

Also, loving your resolve and determination re. the clothes. I'm certain this is how so much weight has crept on me - because I buy new clothes so regularly, I don't realise that the old ones are getting tighter. I have skinny trousers I used to happily wear for work 18 months ago that I wouldn't even try to put on now :(

Mine's always pretty uninspired tbh - either veg such as peppers, courgettes and onions roasted, or cherry toms with tinned sweetcorn. You can search by ingredient on the BBC good food website though so you might find some ideas there?

Would love to know what others take to work for packed lunches? My two favourite tips for reducing calorie intake through the day is to switch coffee and tea for herbal/fruit tea (cuts out milk and sugar) and to take a bag of sliced carrots to graze on rather than crisps :)

Today did not go as planned. To try and get rid of my sugar craving, I had 2 sandwiches at lunch (somehow that made sense at the time), then OH bought me some chocolate home as a treat (lasted less than a minute once I saw it) then he suggested a takeaway and I agreed. The only positives are that I did walk for about 4 minutes and I stuck to my diet until about 2pm, which I guess is better than nothing! :(
