Good morning! First day back at work for me too after 5 days off, I should actually get away with eating less than I do at home, no matter how much DH denies it, he's a feeder!
On Saturday I made a sensible dinner of prawns and squid in a spicy sauce with rice, peppers and broccoli... when I told him that we had no wine or pudding he raced out to the shop (it's a blessing and a curse living next door to a posh supermarket!) and came back with a bottle of wine and brownies!
I've got leftovers for my dinner tonight, cuban flavoured beef and roast garlic mash with some veg and probably a sandwich for lunch. Just have to avoid the big tub of chocolates!
As for exercise today, I'll be walking to/from work at lunchtime (about 30 minutes in total) then after work I'll walk to nursery to pick DS up (as long as it's not raining!) which will be another 25 minutes. Will try to get some Just Dance time in tonight as long as the little guy goes to sleep at a decent hour and stays down.We were playing it on NYE and I must have been going for it as my waist was randomly really sore for a couple of days afterwards!

Thanks for the tips with HF, CW18
We're going to test it for a few weeks and see how it goes, we had a discount code for the first week (comes next Monday) so it was only £24. So we're going to get odds and sods used up this week. Mostly with HF I just like the idea of all the new recipes, and the promise of no waste :smileyhea
With you on the soup, Ruby!! Made one portion with left overs for today, but I'll be batch making some this afternoon for the rest of the week
We have a cross trainer, Gem. OH got it last summer instead of a gym membership, another thing to factor in is you'll have the cross trainer for a lot longer than a year (well, hopefully!) so the cost will level out a bit more?? I've never had a gym membership though, so I am a little biased! Last time I got trimmer and fitter it was just from at home exercise.
Good luck to everyone today! First day back at work for me too. Was up at 6am for a walk, OH made our breakfast juices, and I had a snack (dried fruit and nuts) ready to go for this am. Have a horrible headache, but I've just realised I've not had a coffee so that's probably it
Rest day on the squat challenge THANK MUFFINS. But I will be either doing 30 minutes on the CT, or hauling the exercise bike downstairs to use while I watch a bit of tv this afternoon0 -

You're welcome to have some of my soup, it appears I've made enough to feed an army! Almost ran out of boxes and tubs to store it in.
I'm also back at work today but have no motivation to do anything that's on my massive to-do list. The management know that I'm leaving now, so hoping I can use that as a reason for the slow progress.
Have bought myself some chocolate oat milk to have after the workout this evening as a pseudo protein shake fix. It's 56 minutes of legs, bodyweight toning and lower back stuff tonight, fun!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
How is everyone doing today?
I have woken up feeling full of cold and really run down - this is the kind of day where I would be reaching for the sugar fixes just to get me through the day so wish me luck! Need a lot of will power today.
Luckily DS is back at nursery today, so just me and DD at home today.
Anyone got any filling and quick (and cheap!) lunch ideas please? I would normally have a sandwich with white bread, crisps and chocolate:o
I want something that is not going to leave me reaching for biscuit tin an hour later.
Hope everyone has a good day!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Hey folks is it too late to join?
Weighed myself on Saturday and I'm at 234lbs *hides in a corner* (I am fairly tall though so it sounds worse than it is)
I'm looking to lose around 60lbs. I've managed 32lbs before but fell off the wagon but this time my motivation is babymaking!
29 calories under goal on MFP and I've got the cross-trainer ready for a thrashing tonight@Gem-gem my cross-trainer was only £80 from Argos. It's a bit noisy but it gets the job done.

I've been known to eat a homemade thick veg soup for days on end (one batch makes enough for about 2 weeks, but it freezes well). It does take a while to prep the veg though, and I use a blender to whizz it to smooth (recently had to buy a glass jug one after the plastic one I had started to show hairline fractures from blending while it was still warm). It's fillimg because a portion contains about 6g of fibre - which is a third of the recommended daily minimum. (And if I do a lot exercise in a morning, I just add a slice or two of bread - normally the half & half type or wholemeal or a seeded/granary - for dunking and further increasing the fibre count)
Let me know if you'd like the recipe, and I'll copy/paste it from where I keep it into a post on hereCheryl0 -
Bit late, but please can I join.
Over the last year I have lost 22.5lb but have a long way to go and need to keep my motivation up.
I go to WW as I need the weekly weigh in for my motivation and will be going for my first post-Christmas weigh in tomorrow evening, hoping that the Christmas season won't of done too much damage. I don't feel like I've eaten too stupidly, and I've had no alcohol, so fingers crossedZebras rock0 -

A slow start to my healthy new year, the house is still full of naughty goodies I'm trying to prevent DH from snuffling. He's put a lot of weight on over the festive period and needs to lose a good amount of weight this week so he doesn't give up, as he usually does if he doesn't lose much in the first few weeks.
So my lunches this week will include eating up leftovers with a few sweet treats to empty the house0
