Hola, #23 Tete reporting for duty!
Start weight is 12st 2lbs = 170lbs and I'm aiming to lose 2st = 28lbs.
I've started the new year well on the exercise front with two(!) parkruns yesterday morning and a long half mara training run today - totalling 16 miles. I'm taking part in 'Janathon' where you have to run at least a mile every day. I also finally managed to pin down my PT on the phone and I have an appointment for my consultation and first session on Sunday - looking forward to trying a few weights but also kind of cringing in advance about what a weakling I am.
I can't remember who mentioned the Couch to 5k programme but I think it's brilliant. It seems pointless running for 30 seconds at a time at first but you build up so quickly if you stick to it. By far the best thing for motivation though (I find) is running with others - try a local parkrun or running group. It gives you that accountability too.
Haven't really altered my eating habits yet for 2015, will start this properly from Monday. I have been doing Weightwatchers for the last year or so (not very well obvs!) but I think I might sack that off and return to MFP. I never really got to grips with the whole points thing anyway.
I could be tempted to have a go at the 5:2 diet but with my job and half mara training I think I need more energy. I was reading the other day about intermittent fasting, where you eat your normal amount of food but only within a certain time frame (more info here) - I generally don't bother with breakfast anyway so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch really.
Right, laptop battery about to cark it so I'll sign off - well done everyone so far! :TWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Evening all
Well my weight is 154lbs. (11st) so a minimum of 21lbs to lose.
Not sure how and when the exercise will fit into my life. Can't get out and about easily as have a 20 month old. And always seem to use his morning sleep time and evenings to catch up on work, housework, ironing etc etc.
Hoping when hubby's back at work next week that I will be more organised with the housework so may get on the wii fit at some point.
Eating wise, I have cut down, but it's my birthday in a few days and my mums 60th in a week or so, so will enjoy them without going over the top.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
And I totally agree with Cinny, let's all try not to beat ourselves up too much along the way. The best piece of advice I came across recently was work out because you love your body, not because you hate it.
Totally love that sentiment! Like Glenn Marla said - there's no wrong way to have a body.
There's no strict diet for me, Fmess. Kind of making it up as a go along, tbhMostly cleaner eating and more exercise! Semi regretting my squat challenge as I have to do 75 tomorrow  Good luck with your 10k! I tried running last Summer but it's really not for me
In awe of your running, Tete! And hope everything goes well with your personal trainer on Sunday
Popped into Holland and Barrett today, just for juice things really. Found myself looking at Bootea - has anyone tried it?! Feels like it might be a nice way to detox a little after Christmas, but it also looks extremely over priced. Might have a better look into the ingredients and see if I can just get similar teas that will do a similar job for a few ££ a box
ETA: Forgot to mention, also suffering from the sugar withdrawal headache! Thanks for the tip on drinking more water0 -
Hi Cinny - I bought myself some Bootea in the summer but didn't do it as part of a total detox, just part of a healthier diet. I thought the teas were disgusting and didn't see any effect other than what I would have had with the healthier diet anyway. I have 3x morning and 2x night teabags left - if you want them to try before you buy, PM me your address and I'll pop them in the post tomorrow xxWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0

I don't know if anyone goes on, or is a member of The Running Bug website, but they have a January challenge about to start on Monday.
Basically you tell them how much you currently run (you can put 0 if you have never ran before), then each week they will email you a healthy eating plan for the week and a routine for running. I'm looking forward to seeing if that can help me improve my fitness and will be a good guide for me to know what to eat and how much I need to give me the oomph I need to run!
Went the gym earlier, and I can feel it! My arms are killing me from the weights work, and my legs can feel it from running. My new trainers I got for Christmas are amazing though, So comfy to run in, and my legs didn't seem to tire so easily either.
Food hasn't been too bad, but still having a few bits of left over goodies to use them up. Will be back on it properly from Monday with the diet. Having a rest day tomorrow then going for a run or a bike ride on Sunday.
Oh, I popped into Lidl's this morning as well, as they are selling fitness items in their specials section this week! I got a thigh toner for £4.99. Had a go earlier and my thighs were burning within 30 seconds  I have a long way to go before I dare call myself fit lol :rotfl:0 -
Wow tete really impressed with your running. I think 10k is my max that I would like to run but need to get back to running 5k comfortably first. I did the couch 2 5k last year and found it really useful, it's amazing how quickly you improve. My main issue is I often only have time to exercise at the weekend as I work full time, have work to do in the evenings and weekend, have a second job some evenings and have lots of dogs to walk. I need to try and get in one session in the week too but know that'll be easier to achieve from April to September.

I am really impressed with all the 10k running going on here:rotfl:I am doing one in the morning  Did 11.5k last Tuesday a trail run and I honestly found it ok surprisingly but as someone else said (sorry forgot who) It is much better with other people.
Think I am just stubborn and don't want to give up :rotfl:
Good luck to all

No specific eating plan for me, just using myfitnesspal to log calories for the first week as I can't do a big shop until my fridge arrives. Not much exercise today except putting together a massive wardrobe which weighed about a ton! My cold has finally hit me today though and so it felt like I had run miles after doing anything. Once the kiddiewinks go back to school I'll be starting the couch to 5k.LBM: 15/12/14 Debt @ LBM: £21,560.51/£20,835.29 Number of creditors: 51/47

My target weight is 9st (126lbs)0 -
No 28 shamefully checking in with a starting weight of 224lbs.
That's the heaviest I have ever knowingly been. Ideally I would like to lose 56lbs.
Exercise bike is due to arrive within the hour though!
No exercising today though. I need to rest up and get over the madness of the last two weeks.
I won't be following a diet. Will be using MFP to portion control and building up the distances on the exercise bike.
Two years ago when I had one I was getting up to 40-50km a day.Feb NST #4
