  • Good Morning

I have just done my first weigh in and I weigh 193.4lb. I would like to aim to be 140lb so 53.4lb to lose

I am going to try the 5:2 diet. Starting today! I will have Monday and Friday as my fasting days. A bit nervous as I am a grazer!!

    Good luck everyone :rotfl:

Morning all! Happy official day 1 of the challenge! I started 30 Day Shred again this morning too, was quite a challenge dragging myself out of bed for it but I know if I don't do it before work I won't do it at all. I forgot how wonderfully evil Jillian is all the way through it! "That pain you feel is fear leaving the body!"

Had a terrible night's sleep last night and am really hoping the improved diet and exercise will help with this, I used to be a champion sleeper.

Well done on the 5K Mavvymoo! I am planning to pick up to couch to 5K challenge again as I was doing really well with it a couple of months ago before laziness set in. Has anyone had any good results with this or can anyone recommend anything different? I find if I'm left to my own devices I don't really push myself.

Congrats on giving up smoking too Jacci45 - think of how much money you saved in 2014!

Good luck challengers! May your withdrawal headaches be brief!

I only had a few days of what I had to put down to sugar withdrawal, and I found drinking loads of water helped. I dilute non-sparkling flavoured water with tap water - about one-third flavours, two-thirds tap - as I'm not a fan of plain water at home. This does mean I'm still getting a bit of sugar from that, but nothing compared to the cakes, sweets and biscuits I was ditching ;)
I drink flavoured water too. The tesco no sugar stuff uses sucralose (I don't like artificial flavourings as they give me migranes but I don't react to this one), so I can drink plenty of it where volvic is about 75cals/250ml and tesco is about 6cal/250ml. And it's 4x 1litre bottles for £1.50 so not too hard on the wallet either. I hear Sainsbury's don't use any artificially derived sweeteners in their no added sugar drinks so might need to look into theirs too.

I was really hoping to join our local running group in the new year, but hubby isn't ready to have both children on his own so no joy there. I think they do another intake in March, hopefully by then.

Weights being added to the spreadsheet as they're posted. Need to go do my morning weigh in actually, horrendous night with toddler out of bed 5 times, and the little one just grizzled all night, very unlike him, it was only this morning I realised my attempt to save money by putting him in Tesco nappies not Pampers had left the poor boy soaked up his back, even spreading down his arms and leaving the back of his head soggy! Last time I use those. So while we've been up about 2 hours only just finished the whole routine of nappy changes, bottles, clothes changes, repeat clothes changes, settling down in his bouncer for his morning nap etc ....to the scales!

Edited to add: 164.4lb....44.4lbs to lose. Nice numerical symmetry there.

#19 checking in, starting weight is 152lbs, target is 126lbs so 26lbs and I'd like to lose it in 6 months so that works out nicely as 1lb a week. Good luck everyone.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all!

Is it too late to join?

I'm starting at 237lbs, eek! Although I was actually expecting to be more when I weighed in this morning.

I'm not going to follow a specific diet or join a WW/SW group. I'm just going to cut back on the junk, eat smaller portions and be more active.

Well here goes with my starting weight (which is more than I thought, but considering how many nights out I had last month not particularly mysterious!).

    No. 47 - 187.6lb

Onwards and downwards. Going to up my exercise and be much more sensible with my food, may go back to MFP but I find that a bit tricky with having to eat lunch at work...going to have a little think about it.
  • Was pleasantly surprised this morning with the weigh in although it's probably because we've all been ill over Christmas so not many chocolates eaten and absolutely no alcohol touched!

    Starting weight for #48 - 11st 5lbs (159lbs)

Got loads of fruit with me today and already trying to get my first NSD of the month so I'll not be tempted! x
