#35 checking in (albeit a day late!) with my initial weigh-in of 171lb. Could have been a lot worse TBH, I didn't go too mad over Christmas!
So far I've got no particular diet/exercise plan sorted, I'll get there though! We went on a 45 minute walk yesterday and had a pretty healthy dinner so that's good! I'm tempted to go back to low carb because I loved doing that a few years ago but it costs so much and requires so much forward planning, I just don't think it'll go very well!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
The headache has set in this morning
and the lurgy is still making me tired. I got up and did 40 minutes of chores and now I'm back in bed - think this will be the pattern today, a little activity and then more rest. Hoping to walk all the dogs later, as long as it is dry for long enough.
Food for today will be:-
Breakfast - porridge
Lunch - roast beef sandwich
Dinner - either bolognese and veg, or fajita chicken and vegLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Juice detox SUCKS. Woke up in the night with a cracking migraine complete with sickness and aura, very lucky it's the weekend and my mum could take the kids as I'm still sick but at least tablets have killed the pain. Hubby NIM is working so if mum hadn't been off that would have been £120 in lost wages - a very expensive method of weight loss. Going to go straight to calorie counting instead with a juice or two thrown in for vitamins. Will add new people once I can tolerate the computer.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hope you start to feel better soon Dinah. I hate withdrawal headaches (realise they must be nothing compared to a migraine though you poor thing), and over the years I've discovered if I start to get them they demotivate me and I go back to my old bad eating habits. So now I cut back slowly on things like sugar to try and reduce the odds of getting the headaches, or reducing the severity of them.
My aim over the next few weeks, is to slowly start to cut out processed carbs and sugar (fructose) from my diet completely. I'm hoping to do it in steps, so one week I cut out say biscuits and white pasta, then the next week I cut out say cakes and pizza, until I'm very rarely having anything like it in my diet.
I want to make something to stick up around the house to motivate me, remind me of my goals, and hopefully keep my hands out of the biscuit barrel and fridge! As last night in a moment of not thinking, I just grabbed the tube of Pringles that was open and started shovelling them in

Sorry for late post, weighed in yesterday but bit of a busy day so never got time to put it on here.
My starting weight is 12st 12lb (180lb) - a pound heavier than when I started the last weight loss plan last September...! I was originally planning to try to get to 10st 10lb (150lb) then see how I felt about trying to lose more, but may go further and aim for 20% of my current body weight (36lb), which would take me to 10st 4lb /144lb. Sorry, think in stones but know it's easier in pounds for calculations.
I am planning healthy eating - alcohol free, no sweets, chocs or other junk foods, minimal sugar and reduction in carbs by cutting out bread and reducing potatoes / only using wholemeal pasta and brown rice - with 5:2 as well.
I did Couch to 5K last year and loved it, was running 5k (very sloooowwwwly) then a holiday and broken big toe stopped me in my tracks and I've never really got going with it again. So plan is to restart running and/or cycling at least 3 times a week, with additional cardio thrown in as it comes up - such as going swimming with DS1 later this morning - and dumbbell routine. I'm aware that strength training may hamper my weight loss plans, but will measure as well this morning and will have a starting point to measure progress. If the weight isn't coming off but everything is shrinking and I can fit into smaller clothes then I'm not going to worry too much...
Love the quote about doing this because you love your body, not because you hate it - sorry, can't find it at the mo as not on this page and don't want to scroll back further for fear of losing this essay, but thank you to whoever posted it, I'm going to keep that as a mantra lol!#21 Save £12k in 2025 £12577.35/£20000

Does anyone else struggle with evening snacking?
I found the best solution was to not have anything in the house - but that's easy for me as I live almost totally alone (DS1 lives here, but the only food I provide for him - at his request - is the daily cooked meal).
For the last couple of years my digestive system has reacted fairly badly to a sugar or saturated fat overload - to the point I daredn't wander far from the little room for 24 hoursFor the last 12 months I've not really had many urges to eat these things either. I don't know whether it's because I've stopped eating which means it doesn't have to cope with processing them as often, due to hormome changes (according to my GP I'm now at 'that age'), or my body rejecting fats and sugars in an attempt to keep itself as healthy as possible (I have high cholesterol and am at high risk of T2 diabetes). Whatever the reason, it does mean I now think twice before overloading on either - and that has to be a good thing :T
DS2 was home from 27th to 31st December, and on the evening of 28th I heard him at the kitchen cupboards so wandered through to see if I could help. He was looking for 'munchies', and was disgusted when I told him I don't have/don't buy - but settled for toast (a half and half bread) and honey as a reasonable alternativeCheryl0 -
Will read back in a second now I've progressed from huddled in the bathroom/asleep in bed to vaguely upright on the sofa in a blanket. However I just found this and thought it might appeal to any numbers geeks among you (who am I kidding, this is DFW, we're ALL numbers geeks)
Or if you're a bit more visual pinterest idea 1 and 2
And for those who like a bit of a treat and struggle to make that not mean wine/chocolate/takeaway. Idea 3Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Does anyone else struggle with evening snacking?
Absolutely! DH is always saying we must have a mouse in the house because of how quickly cheese disappearsI've got some Options in to see if they will do the trick. Also resorted to munching on picked onions last night

No 33 here weighing in at a shaming 256lbs. In total I'm aiming to lose 98lbs this year (7 stone) - believe me this is needed.
I will weigh in each Wednesday but as the fridge is still full weight loss might not be seen for a couple of weeks...
Game plan for me is:-- Stop drinking wine
- Use up month's worth of Exante sachets I have to give a kick start to weight loss
- Then cut portion sizes
That's to start with but will update as things become clearer along the way.
Onwards & upwards
Edited to add - how could I forget - I ordered a "fitbit" with Amazon vouchers I had - waiting impatiently for it to arriveDebts 07/12/2021
