12-24 weeks pregnant (part 4)

Just updating the list with my scan and next midwife appt. Although this is my second pregnancy, I'm seeing my midwife every 4 weeks.
I think I first noticed movements around 15 weeks this time; OH felt some a week ago at 17 weeks. They're getting stronger and I'm definitely noticing them more frequently now.
I'm torn with deciding when to finish work/start mat leave. I have 5 weeks AL to take at the start of my mat leave, but am torn with deciding whether or not I should finish at Christmas, or at New Year. If I finish at Christmas, I'll start mat leave officially at the beginning of Feb. If I finish at New Year, I'll start mat leave officially the second week of Feb. That last week I won't be allowed to see any patients anyway but I can't make my mind up. On one hand, it will be LOVELY to finish on Christmas Eve, and I know I'll enjoy the time with my daughter before baby arrives, but will it be too long and she'll get too used to my being home with her, just us?
I'll be reducing her nursery hours in January to save money as can have her doing extra hours just when I need it once baby is here and OH has returned to work (until I'm driving again).0 -
Afternoon all
I've had a hectic few days at work, running a big experiment this week and have been on my feet in the lab all day. I'm wiped out! I had to stay late last night so got home at 7 and went to bed at 9 as I was falling asleep on the sofa. Really feeling it today, achy all over and we still have 2 days of experiment to gogood thing we don't have weeks like this very often.
I keep thinking I've felt movements, and then deciding I've imagined it. I can't actually remember when I first felt them with DD, but I think it was closer to 20 weeks. I'm 15 weeks at the moment.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

WHEN YOU SEE THIS POST DO YOUR PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES!!
I am 17 weeks (second pregnancy) and think I have felt movement but unsure. I have an anterior placenta and a bit of natural padding so don't expect to feel exactly what I felt last time.
However, I know baby is very active after seeing it at the dating scan and hearing the kicks when the MW listened to the foetal heartbeat :j0 -
Afternoon. Hope everyone is well today, and having a good week. They are just flying by at the moment aren't they?!
Having a neurotic day today, need someone to talk some sense into me! I'm 17w+4 today and just don't feel pregnant now, feels like my bump isn't as bumpy (iykwim) and I'm just feeling rubbish. Been having some aches and got some tablets for a water infection this morning (Doc had a poke and said all felt well). Now I'm getting paranoid and keep seeing single magpies and just had a butterfly in my office, so convinced something is going to go wrong - poor oh doesn't know what to do with me! I think it's because we had so many problems getting to this stage, I just can't believe that it's happening. Anyone else as neurotic as me?0 -
Awww tam. I do know what you mean, I just keep hoping all is well too. I think until I can feel kicks ill be panicking. My bump is starting to show which is reassuring. I've got my midwife 16W appointment next week so going to ask to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Fingers crossed.0

I've heard the heartbeat at 16 weeks and all was well. Just feels like bump isn't as bumpy and I'm just a nut job! Thought about buying a doppler but that will probably make me more obsessed...argh...0

Tam- my bump changes shape- sometimes it's really up front and big and hard and sometimes it's quite flat. Movement also changes with it, I figure it's because baby has changed position.
It's strange coz we all spent the first 14 weeks plus wanting our sickness/ nausea/ tiredness to go away and then when it does and we feel normal again we panic! Once you start to feel more movement it will help.
I can tell I'm coming to the end of the 'blossom' I'm just sooo tired all the time and just want to eat carbs. The weight is piling on! I'm going to ask about anaemia when I see the midwife next. I've got an appointment with the endocrinologist tomorrow. I think my levels are fine though.0 -
Don't buy a doppler! You're only a week or two away from feeling regular movements.0
