Oops posted too early! My worst nightmare is another section, the recovery was awful and I really struggled for weeks. The idea of doing it with dd at home as well is dreadful.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Lol it is funny how we're all different; I am choosing an elective section this time as had emergency section last time and my worst nightmare would be another emergency section. At least with planned I can prepare for not being able to drive which was the worst bit for me last time.
Had a really tough week with my toddler. Potty training is going really well but Monday night she was up for two and a half hours from midnight, not a clue why?! Tuesday night she woke at 2 and I got her back to sleep in 20min but then couldn't go back myself. Luckily last night she went back to sleeping through.
If I couldn't feel baby moving, and didn't have a bump, I'd forget I was pregnant as apart from a bit of back pain in the mornings I don't have any other symptoms at the moment.
Hope everyone has a lovely Friday0 -
Open question to everyone.....
How far along were you when you started to feel some sort of movement, and what did it feel like?
I'm obviously not at that point yet but wondering when i should start to expect to feel different.hi0 -
morning ladies
any one else office based? im 15 weeks and suffering high back pain...am getting a new seat which think will help and am making effort to stand up as much as poss, didnt expect this to happen so early in pregnancy
have found a yoga class starting in november so looking froward to that have done yoga in the past0 -
I'm office and lab-based *niptuckfan*, but mostly office at the moment as we're in a lull with lab work. I'm getting very achy as well, but I went to Pilates last night for the first time in ages (8pm class plus 1st trimester tiredness was not a good combination!) and I feel so much better for it today. I'm aching in different places due to lack of practice though! There's so much extra strain on your body in pregnancy, I think yoga/pilates make a really big difference, especially if you can manage to do some small exercises every day. I've got a list from my pilates teacher of things I should try and do every day to keep my back mobile (I have a previous back issue) and help with fluid circulation in legs. My pregnancy risk assessment states to have frequent breaks/change of position as required, if I'm at my desk all day I make an effort to get up and walk a loop of the building every hour or so or everything seizes up!
me-charlotte, I think I first felt DD move about 18 weeks, but I didn't write it down anywhere so I can't remember! I keep thinking I've felt a flutter this time, but am only 14 weeks so it's probably a bit early. I'm looking forward to feeling movements this time, it was one of my favourite things with DD. Nice for DH too once they can feel on the surface, helps them connect with baby I think.
Saffagal, my DD kept doing that a few weeks ago, luckily it was a blip and she's back to mostly sleeping through again (I did have to go in and find Blanky at 5am yesterday, as she was sort of crying in her sleep/half awake state that she'd lost him. He was an inch from her hand!)Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
I felt movement at 14weeks, it's my first and is was only week 17ish that I realized it really was baby moving!
Ended up at MAU this morning, all ok. Had reduced movement but heartbeat found immediately and all ok.0 -
Afternoon everyone. Have been reading posts but not posting as I was at a conference for a few days.
Very jealous of all your movements. Due to my (stupid) anterior placenta, everything is being cushioned. I have felt a few flutters but only if I lean forward in the afternoon or early evening and really concentrate.
Rambosmum, glad all is well. This is the thing that freaks me out the most now, as I am not sure I will be able to tell if the movements have reduced as I cant feel them much anyway. I am just hoping they ramp up a bit so they are at least detectable.
niptuckfan, I am part office, part glasshouse part lab based. I find I cant do any of these for too long without getting sore so I try to mix it up as much as possible. Sometime if I have an office day, I will make the effort to walk to the furthest loo every hour just to stretch my legs.
Does anyone know if you can still have a water birth if your classed as high risk (high bmi + bp)? I don't think I am allowed to use the midwife led unit, but the main hospital does have a birth pool too and from the hospital notes it states a cut off bmi for water births which I am under, which suggests I might be able to use it. I may ask the midwife next time I see her but this is about 6 weeks away. Any experiences?0 -
thats exciting to hear, i'm 14+1 I think so could experience some flutters/ movements in the coming weeks. :T:Dhi0

I work in a kitchen so on my feet all day - the grass isn't any greener this side I can tell you! Absolutely melting today!
I am still getting sickness (14 + 4), especially when brushing my teeth in the morning! My face is so spotty as well, I usually have a clear complexion, even as a teenager I didn't really suffer from spots but it's come back to haunt me. On the plus side my skin isn't so dry so my psoriasis is getting better. I've still not heard the babies heartbeat yet ( just seen it on the scan) so in to minds whether DH should take a day off for my 16 week midwife appt and ask then.
Devildolly5 I'm not sure about the water birth, I always thought a high BMI meant it wasn't an option. I would love it, think it would make things less stressful but tbh I am not going to ask because I would be upset if I was told no (my BMI is high) and I don't really want them bringing that up on the day either - I know I'm not perfect I don't need reminders. Hope you are allowed if that's what you would like. I'm definitely going to ask if I can get up and move around, I think gravity should play a part - pushing from a lying down position looks tough!
I'm in two minds whether to just get gas & air or if I'd like an epidural though...I would rather feel something but my pain threshold isn't high!0
