12-24 weeks pregnant (part 4)

Don't worry Tam, if you're the world's worst mother, I don't know what that makes me - I'm 22 weeks tomorrow and we haven't bought anything at all yet!
We have a small box of things we've been given but it's just little things like booties and some bibs. I've got a spreadsheet on the go as well but as for actually going out and buying stuff, well that hasn't happened yet (my brain is still screaming "it's far too early!")
Managed to convince DH to go along to one of the Mothercare Expectant Parents events; still working on him for the Baby Show though(thanks for the info though LittleMoog!)
Also, starting pregnancy yoga on Wednesday night - I've never done yoga before in my life but several people at work said it was worth trying. Ah well, I'll give it a go and see how I get on

I'm 15 weeks on Thursday and haven't given a single thought to buying things - still seems far too early for me! Once I hit 20 weeks and we know the sex I might start getting things.
Also, is anyone else still suffering with sickness? I felt loads better around weeks 11 and 12, but now the sickness is back with a vengeance and I just feel nauseous all day longHave tried pretty much every suggestion I can find but nothing seems to ease it... Just keeping my fingers crossed it goes away soon, as I don't know how I'll cope if I feel like this all the way through!

I'm doing pregnancy yoga too Frozenpenguine. Started last week, was very strange. I'd never been in a room with so many pregnant women before!
I've also got a spreadsheet going - I'm calculating how much we've saved by buying second hand/ in sales/ presents etc than buying new. So far we're at nearly £1000 saving! (and that was going for low - mid end stuff anyway).
Car seat has to go backone of the straps if frayed. I'm not prepared to risk it, though I'm sure it would be fine, I'd never forgive myself. They don't have any to replace it with though as they've sold out. I think it was a ploy due to the pricing error!
Going to do a bit of research on other car seats. One woman told me I HAD to buy a maxi-cosi or britax car seat as the others weren't safe - I'm not sure I believe her!0 -

I still have nothing for baby, apart from a few bits we've picked up when we've seen them and gone OOOH (3 sleepsuits and some very cute booties).
I do, however, have a list in my head of what we need and we're going to the Baby Show next month - have just booked tickets. The Baby Show is on the day DH gets his annual bonus, so at the very least, we should be able to order the pushchair then :j0 -
I can't believe I have moved up to number 4 in the list!!
Rambosmum, i am loving the idea of a spreadsheet with savings. Will give that a go!
We are recycling most things from DS, but need two of many things! Going to look at a car seat and base tomorrow (from someone i trust...), then they will share a cot for as long as possible.
I have been offered a pram for free (icandy) and would just need to buy the bits to make it suitable for two babies, but think I might get a side by side one, as they are far nicer for when the babies are old enough to want to look out!
I am suffering from the sicky burps/hiccups, which occur every couple of minutes all day long, particulary after I have eaten. it is somewhat amusing for the kids at school, but getting annoying!!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I've been a bit quiet lately as nothing really to report.
Bean i suffer with sickness/ nausea at 13+5 but have been given some tablets from the dr as i was throwing up blood. they work a treat during the day but still get nausea mildly of a night. I was told by the dr that it's not uncommon for nausea and sickness to last the duration of the pregnancy. I bloody well hope not as i put up with the nausea from about week 3 and it was depressing every day feeling ill for the best part of 3 months, don't think i could cope for 9!!!
Does anyone else sit at work/ home and feel nothing, i mean im sitting at my desk now and i don't feel pregnant, i've got a bit of a podge but that just looks like i've gone a bit wrong with my diet. i would swear that if i hadn't seen the scan and felt the sickness that i'd just put on weight.
I haven't brought anything, i was looking at nursery furniture on the bay but didn't see anything cheap enough to buy and hubby said it's a bit early. I don't think we'll really start getting anything until the end of the year or even next year as we're not due until the middle of march.
Sorry im waffling now, but i hope i've got a nice bump for christmas, id hate to just look and feel fat at my favorite time of year.hi0 -
Sorry you are feeling rubbish me-charlotte, hope it improves soon! Nice doctor to tell you that you could have it for that long, just what is going to make you feel better?!
I know what you mean, feel quite normal today and not 'properly' pregnant. Think it will be better when my bump pops out and I can feel it moving, so I know its still there and doing ok. I can feel my hard bit and where it is, and can tell it's growing, but can't wait to get a proper bump (although when I can't get comfy and sleep, or fit into anything / anywhere, I'm sure I will change my tune!)0 -
Sorry to hear you've been feeling so poorly me-charlotte, I'm glad the tablets are helping a bit at least.
You should have a nice bump by Christmas, I remember with DD really liking my bump at around 6-7 months, not too uncomfy, but definitely bumpy as opposed to podge :rotfl: In fact even when I went really overdue (I was induced at 42+0!) I didn't find it too uncomfortable. I missed my bump after she was born.
We didn't get the house we went to see yesterday, gutted!Hope something nice comes up soon, as I would really like to have moved before Christmas to give us a chance to get settled before baby comes.
I've been working out my maternity leave dates, and because of the way our holiday year falls I can postpone going back to work until January which is niceI'll also have 12 days holiday to use before my leave, so I'm planning to do short weeks for the last 6 weeks or so, but keep DD at nursery full time so I can have some rest days. Once I'm actually on leave we'll drop her down to 3 days a week at nursery so she gets some time at home, but also some continuity and to see all her friends etc. I think she'd be pretty bored at home with me and a newborn all week long, she loves her nursery so much.
