We've started making a list but not actually bought anything yet - although I have put together a spreadsheet of 3-wheeler pushchairs We go to a lot of steam rallies and things-in-fields so we need something fairly tough.

We've already got our names as well - but for the moment, little one is called Findus (as it was an embryo that was frozen for a year...)

Anyone thinking of going to the Baby Show at Olympia in October? I'm trying to say to DH that it would be a perfect way to have a mini babymoon at the same time but so far, he's not convinced

We went to the one at the NEC in April (run by same company I think) when I was pregnant with DD, it was good. Lots of freebies, and it was great to compare travel systems all in the same place on the same day. There's often offers to get the tickets half price etc, and we got some bargains while we were there.

We've talked names, I have clear favourites but OH isn't as keen and I don't like any of his suggestions!

I hadn't planned to buy things so early but was keeping an eye out for prices/ good deals/decent second hand stuff and it seems a good time to be buying. The resale value for a lot of this stuff is awful, great for me but rubbish for people who are selling it!

We've been discussing names for a while, but don't agree on any yet! With DD we had a shortlist of 2 names for each sex, and we waited until she was born to pick one. We ended up with the name DH preferred though, as we decided in theatre while I was being stitched up from emcs, and wasn't really up to arguing, so this time I'm going to hold my ground My preference from last time is no good now, as my niece born 5 months after DD has a very similar name. I know what my choices would be for boy and girl this time, but DH isn't sure.

I have a boys name (first and second) and a girls name which OH is happy with. I just need a second name for a girl ut can't decide on one. My 2year old has my sister's name as her second name as she died just before A was born so I would like a family name as the second name again.

We don't want to find out, so are trying to get 4-5 of each so we can decide what it looks like when it pops out. Ok for girls names but really struggling for boys. Probably won't matter as everyone says its a girl anyway!


Been to see the midwife for 16 week check up today and heard the heartbeat for the first time, was ruddy amazing - been smiling all day

We struggled to pick a boys name cos we used our favourite with ds but still have a few girls names to use. I have my 20week scan on
Tues, not feeling too nervous yet but I know I will be nearer the time! Yay for hearing the hb tam, it's wonderful! Im jealous of all the buying new sparkly prams and cots etc. we don't need that much apart from bottles and mattresses. Devildolly, we didn't find out ds gender and bought mostly white sleep suits or white and grey and when my inlaws came to see us they had raided next for boys stuff. We got so many outfits that we didn't need to buy anything!
