  • Afternoon all :)

I had my 16w midwife appointment this morning, all ok and heard the heartbeat :D I've been feeling a bit grotty the last few days, combination of morning sickness coming back and having my flu jab at the weekend I think. I'm beyond exhausted and it's only Tuesday lunchtime! :o roll on the weekend!

I'm so pleased I'm passed the nausea phase! Still going to bed at 9pm though, even at 23 weeks!!

Had the glucose test today, and the twins loved it - it felt like a party in my tummy and I could feel and see them blobbing around! Such a strange sensation!

I am supposed to be using my half day off constructively, but after a pile of marking, I have run out of enthusiasm and really just want a cup of tea and the TV before going to pick DS up from school!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • See you in 8 weeks devildolly5! Happy 3rd trimester :)

Glad all went well littlemoog. I've got my midwife appointment tomorrow. Was sick this morning - just struggling to brush my teeth still!

I'm ravenously hungry at the moment, we had a long meeting this morning and the project leader always brings snacks/treats. I think I ate half a tub of celebrations! :o
We're going to look at a house on Friday as we'd like to move to the other side of town before the baby comes. Hopefully it will be nice and we'll get it, the other houses we've like we didn't get and we've been looking since January. Haven't really given much thought to how we're going to fit the baby in if we don't manage to move, as DD's room is tiny! I feel like we're not doing much to prepare for this baby, mostly as we really don't need to buy anything, all so different to the first time around. I did buy a couple of babygrows in the JoJo Maman Bebe sale earlier though, even though we don't technically need them, I wanted to buy something new for this bubs. :)

    Afternoon ladies :)

We had our 20 week scan last night, and thankfully baby cooperated beautifully letting the sonographer do all the checks and measurements that she needed. Baby is growing nicely too.

Because of the lateness of our appt, at 17:30, we had to take our 2 year old with us as her nursery closes at 6, but she was so good - just sitting quietly next to DH throughout the scan. Even the sonographer commented on how good she was. Definitely a relief to have our scan done and dusted!

We're off on a family holiday today - been really looking forward to it as we didn't have a holiday in the summer! I'm just packing doing last minute organising whilst LO is at nursery but needed a little sit down for a bit.

I keep getting really dizzy; I'm still waiting on a consultant appt as have issues with my blood pressure but after 4 phone calls to chase it have given up as just find the chasing too stressful.

Hope that everyone else is well and babies are behaving
    have a lovely week,
    Saf x

That's great news saf. I've heard the picture isn't as clear because they are bigger, is that true? I can't wait! A few weeks yet.

Great news Saf, re your scan! Sorry you're feeling dizzy, though.

I've not been feeling too great - tired, lethargic, no enthuiasm for anything, as well as dizziness and just general grumpiness! Tipping point came when I called my mum in tears - I never complain about my health, so she was very, very concerned! Anyway, I went to the GP as I suspected I may have low iron levels and didn't want to wait until my 28 week bloods to find out that my Hb is super low (last time I went down to 8 and had a terrible time after DD3 was born, with fainting and dizziness). I am normally slightly anaemic when not pregnant and apparently I have small red blood cells, which doesn't help matters. GP ordered urgent bloods and, lo and behold, I'm anaemic! I'm now on ferrous fumarate to bring my levels up and hopefully I'll start to feel normal soon.

My SPD is in full force now and I'm seeing both a physio and osteopath to sort it out, so all is okay on that front.

I'm actually quite happy today as my cousin had a baby boy yesterday morning! Now I'm the next one due as there were 4 cousins all pregnant and now that this cousin has had her baby, I'm next, with the other 2 due 2 weeks after me.

I'm going to the Baby Show in London at the end of the month and can't wait! We've not bought much for baby - just a few bits and bobs here and there, so I'm hoping to get some bargains at the show.

I still have my Beco Butterfly carrier from DD3 but sadly I sold my wraps (Moby and Didymos), so I'm now on the hunt for some more :).

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I wish there were baby shows around here. The house hunt is still ongoing. Looking forward to getting somewhere so I can start buying the big things. Getting anxious about my 20 week scan, seems like forever away still.

Getting into the winter spirit today with the appearance of my Christmas jumper. Thought I better get some wear incase it's too tight by December! I was so in the mood for the mulled apple juice from Costa but they said it's not out yet so settled for a citrus and ginger tea - really missing caffine! Might buy some apple juice and make my own with cardoman and cinnamon sticks, a replacement for my winter mulled wine!

I make a lovely non-alcoholic mulled wine each Christmas for the drivers - Sainsbury's do a lovely non-alcoholic red wine which I use to make it. Tastes just like the real thing.
