I am going to have 11 classes of teenagers comment on my bump next week, as it is not really possible to hide! bracing myself for the variety of comments!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Hello niptuckfan!
Good luck for next week pinkshoes! Hope the comments aren't too bad
Had my 20 week scan at 8am this morning (at 19+1) - they said everything they could see looked normal but little one clearly isn't a morning person as it was quite obvious he/she was happy curled up asleep! Every time the sonographer tried to wake them up or I did a belly shuffle to move them around, they shrugged a bit and then went back to a cosy little ball.
Long story short - they want me back for a 23 week scan because they missed about a third of the checks (the sonographer did say she'd make a note that I needed an afternoon appointment)
She also said I have an anterior placenta (which is nothing to worry about apparently) but as well as that, a low-lying placenta which again, she said not to worry but they would scan me again at 32 weeks and see if it's moved upwards. Anyone have any experience of this? Reading Dr Google you can scare yourself senseless!
Hugs to you all xx0 -

Glad hat they could see went well. Sounds very cute!
Anterior placenta I think just means you don't feel as much movement as someone with a posterior placenta.
The low lying placenta, from what I know of it from others experiences means that if it hasn't moved up at the 32 week scan they consider an elective caesarean due to risk of placenta previa, but will reassess at 37 weeks as it could still move again. One friend had an elcs because of it the other friend's moved up but she ended up with an emergency c section anyway for different reasons! So I really wouldn't worry much about it, and step away from google!0 -
Hi ladies,
welcome niptuckfan
I still find it weird telling people and loads of people at work still don't know, as well as plenty of friends I don't see often. The important ones - immediate family and at work people who's role is affected because I can no longer do certain parts of my role - know and one admin at work knows but the rest don't.
I do find it a little strange telling people - I totally understand congratulations on the birth of baby... but congratulations on *being* pregnant, well... I find it a little odd.
I'm still feeling exhausted most of the time though I imagine this is mainly due to disturbed nights (either needing the loo run, or being woken by DD/OH).
I worked Monday of this week instead of tomorrow so now have a super long weekend... which I'd planned to use to potty train DD, spending plenty of time in the garden; it looks like it will be tipping down the next few days
Hope everyone else is well. I saw my mw again on Monday and she wanted to know if I've planned my mat leave already - I'm only 14weeks! (Obviously I've thought about it though hehe)0 -
Glad you got to see baby frozenpenguin, sounds like they didn't want to be disturbed
I think the placenta can move so nothing to worry about, but as Rambo said if it hasn't moved as you get nearer to birth, they may opt to give you a c section instead.

Hey nip tuck!
My new kitchen got delivered last nightso that's my bank holiday weekend sorted. I'll be pleased when it's all done and looks nice, I just hate living in a bomb site. Our bedroom is the only one that looks like an actual room! There's even pots and things in the bathroom now.
My car has broken down so I'm having to dip in to my mat leave savings to have it fixed.
We sat down and looked at figures last night and we're a bit broke. Can't wait for OH to start full time work again!0 -
