  • Thanks both. Think we were expecting it to be like the movies where they just slide it over gently and get lovely images straight away of a wriggly baby, haha

So I've gone from maybe one or two noticible movement ts off baby since 14 weeks. Yesterday and today baby has been having a four hour dance party in my womb. I can even feel it on the outside though OH isn't patient enough to feel it yet!

It's really weird and I don't think I like it but obviously don't want it to stop if you see what I mean?

Hi everyone! Have just graduated from the less than 12 week thread, after having my scan on Tuesday. This is baby #1 for us, so everything is new!

Tam I've been quite tender the last few days after my scan, our sonographer also did a lot of prodding to try & get baby to move. I was also put in a position at work on Wednesday where I was on my feet for most of an 11 shift & had to do a lot of manual handling, which hasn't helped.

Sounds exciting rambosmum! I've only had one or two fluttery feelings (weirdly, it reminds me of pressing on something like a trampoline!?) Nothing more as yet although it is my first and I've got a bit of extra padding (in the form of too many dinners from the chip shop) so I'm not expecting to feel anything properly for a few more weeks :p

 Hello to Laura as well! xx

I can feel a few flutters too, although mainly at night when I am lying still.

My belly button has popped out already and not even 18 weeks yet.

I have finally solved the night time blocked sinus issue with a nice pharmacist who a given me Sterimar which is wonderful stuff! i had my first decent night sleep last night in weeks, so long may it last!

    Welcome to Laura!

I'm feeling pretty regular movements now, especially in the morning as I'm waking up, early evening when I've settled on the sofa and then later when I'm lying in bed. Love it. I can be in a right grump and then I'll just feel a little wriggle or a kick and it puts a smile back on my face :grinheart

Ooh thanks for the tip pinkshoes, I'll look into Sterimar, I'm struggling with headache & tiredness again today and I'm sure it's all sinus related.

    Hello Laura :hello:

    This is the sinus stuff:

Safe for use during pregnancy!! A little pricy but worth it at £7.99, although I wonder if you can get it on prescription?

Hi Laura and welcome - glad that your scan went well.

Rambosmum, I have started feeling flutters, mainly when I get into bed in the evening. I remember last time, when I used to sit with my feet up in the evenings and watch baby moving about - ripples across and jabs coming out of my midriff; it did rather freak me out despite being reassuring as I knew baby was ok.

Pinkshoes - Yay for a good night's sleep!

I am waking up in agony every morning with low back pain. I have a dream genii pillow and also use an extra pillow for support but for up to 2 hrs after I'm up in the morning I have really restricted movement due to back pain... any suggestions? I did have pgp last time but that affected my hips predominantly and not my back so not sure if it could be pgp? Will be bringing it up when I see the mw on Monday.

Hope that everyone has a lovely weekend x
  • My bump tends to have a good move around when I'm in bed. I love feeling her move about, it's very reassuring.

Has anyone else got to have the glucose screening test? I have mine on 28th Sept when I'll be 28 weeks

I have to have this as well because DD3 was 4.56kg (10lb1oz). The last time I had elevated glucose levels was when I was pg with DD1 and had to have the GTT then, which came back negative. I think I just produce big babies :D. I'm having mine at nearly 25 weeks.

I remember it being quite nauseating with DD1 as you have to starve yourself for 12 hours beforehand, they take blood, give you a sickly sweet drink. Then you wait for 1 or 2 hours, during which time you still can't eat anything, then they take blood again and you can finally eat after that!
