Thanks everyone. I do have moments of sadness & worry, but until he's born we won't know exactly what treatment is required so am trying not to overthink it. I'm very positive about the treatment results though, I've heard lots of good stories from people who have gone though it.

I think his increased movement over the last few days has really helped us to stay positive and I've already come to terms with the fact that the underlying worry will be with us for the next 20-30 years!

hieveryone, hope you have a lovely scan and hello saffagirl!

    Welcome Saffagirl!

Congrats on the boy snowball, I hope the talipes is not too serious

Hope the scan goes well hieveryone.

My leave year runs Feb to Jan so I'll be taking all of my 2016 leave before I go back. It's an extra month of maternity leave and my new leave year will start a couple of weeks after I'm back.

I turned 24 weeks yesterday so ought to move up to the big thread now I suppose!

Bye jwil. See you over there in a few weeks.

This is all starting to get very real. I've been reading about maternity wards on another forum and the idea of being on a ward in my nighty, bleeding and a mahoosive pad between my legs is filling me with absolute dread! I hate periods at the best of times and this sounds like the rivers of he'll! Gulp.
  • Snow ball I am glad it's nothing serious, and hope it's put your mind at rest a little. At least they are prepared and can help him when he's born. Congrats on a boy too :D

I'm not sure when I'm taking my maternity. Worked out around 11th December with HR, but may have to be earlier if my SPD gets worse. I want to take the year off then go back part time.

I've been buying a few bits and getting more excited now. Little girl likes to make her presence known at night especially and the bladder somersaults are fun :rotfl:

Thanks Diamond. Baby was having a good old wriggle this morning. Am slightly worried I'm having some SPD type symptoms, but hoping it's just after effects of a slightly vigorous scan!

Rambosmum, I'm dreading that bit too, will have to buy the maternity pads soon I suppose!

And don't forget to take loads of pairs of big pants to hospital to stick the horrible big maternity pads into!

    Hi all,

Scan went well yesterday, and everything measured perfectly. Was actually measuring 1 week and 2 days ahead, so looking like a little chubber! :rotfl:

Lady scanning found it very difficult to actually get the measurements and pictures as little one was so very active and would NOT sit still - she asked me had I had any sugar before I went in as it was SO wriggly! (I hadn't!) :rotfl:

I didn't find out the sex, but she has written it in an envelope. Since the scan my 'intuition' of what the sex is has gotten stronger, and I really believe I am right - will need to wait and see now I guess :o

Feeling slightly more real now, and bought first baby gro's yesterday after scan.

Hope everyone feeling good and scans all going well :)

Left twix flashed at me and showed his boy bits!! Right twix was being its usual awkward self, but we couldn't aee any boy bits so think it is a girl, so looks like it is one of each for us!

Private scan was worth every penny to see the heart beat and see them wiggling. So relieved.

Glad that your scans went well pinkshoes and hieveryone

Hope that everyone has had a good weekend?

We had a fabulous day out yesterday at an airshow, a playdate for my 2 year old this morning, and this afternoon I dug out all my mat clothes from last time to have a sort through and see if there is anything I am likely to need (unfortunately, not much at all I think). I think just a few long sleeve tops for near the end.

I really haven't done much today, but feel exhausted... can't wait to start feeling a little more energetic!
