  • Hi all,

Hope you're all doing well. Had 22 week mw appointment today which was all fine, and then back to hospital on Friday for attempt two at the 20 week scan. Baby wasn't playing ball and was asleep with hands over face last time so there are some bits they need to do again.

Feeling pretty well, although my back is starting to ache in the evenings. Has anyone got on with a pregnancy pillow? Seem to get mixed reviews and not sure whether to go for a dream genie or a bolster.

I've gone up a whole cup size! I have boobs now! I hadn't realised how uncomfortable my old bras had got until I put on the new one, so have bought another in black, so I have 2. I don't want to buy too many in case I increase in size again.

Book girl - someone else was recommending a pregnancy pillow to me- I'm trying to sleep on my side but it's really hurting my back, I'm usually a tummy sleeper, or failing that on my back. Side sleeping does not suit me!
  • Hi and bye nightsky and diamond orchid!

I'm only 21 weeks so not moving on just yet :)

I actually saw a kick through my stomach last night, girlie is getting quite strong now.

I felt movement much earlier than with DS, started around 16 weeks this time round and has increased. She is currently kicking me in the groin as I eat my lunch :rotfl:
  • Doh! Silly me and sorry Diamond orchid!!!! I'm blaming baby brain as I keep making all sorts of stupid clumsy mistakes at the moment. The latest was me missing the conveyor belt completely in Aldi yesterday and having to apologise to the lovely lady who had to clear up the huge broken jar of sandwich pickle from the floor. Oops!

Hey everyone, how are you all?

bookgirl - I haven't got a pregnancy pillow but just using a normal one to support my belly. It does make a difference, and a lot of people swear by them.

I'm finding bed so uncomfortable at the moment though, I remember it was the same with DS. We went out and bought a new expensive mattress which was even worse! Once he was born, my bed went back to being the most comfortable place ever, so I'm hoping it will be the same this time.

I had an anterior placenta with DS, and I think he was a bit chilled out, so I hardly felt any movements with him. This time my placenta is at the back and I have a real kicker, I'm amazed at the difference. Baby even woke me up last night having a party in there.

  • Jwil, can I ask how you know where the placenta is. Did they tell you at the 12 week or 20 week scan?

On the pillow front, I bought a mum to be pack from Argos. It has a V shaped pillow and a small wedge. The V shape does help, especially with the achy back when sitting up, but still not feeling very comfortable at the moment.

A few scans coming up soon for you guys! Looking forward to hearing all the updates. Are you all finding out the sex, or waiting it to see what you have? We are waiting, but I am getting an urge to want to know now!

I'm waiting devildolly. Team yellow all the way!

I slept a bit better last night with a pillow between my knees, think I just need to experiment.

Ooh love reading about all these movements and obvious pregnancy symptoms!

We had our anomaly scan and unfortunately it appears there is an anomaly :( We've been booked in for another scan later in the week with a specialist to see the extent of the problem and if there are any associated risks.

On a more positive note, I'm feeling lots of gentle wiggles (just got one then while I type :)) although not strong enough yet for DH to feel.

We weren't going to find out the sex, we wanted the 'surprise' but we're going to see how the next scan goes and decide if we want to find out then.

ETA I've been sleeping with a normal pillow and some nights it seems to help, others not so much. I'll carry on with that for now, but am definitely getting a big bouncy ball this weekend, I've heard good things and they look like fun! :rotfl:
  • Snow-ball, big hugs. Hopefully a specialist will be able to figure things out better. Fingers crossed for you. x
