Urghh got up this morning and then was very sick! Am hoping it was just a one off. Coincidentally I had midwife this afternoon and she said it can sometimes be hormones spiking again and to not be surprised if it happens again. Have managed to eat/drink today but still feel pretty rubbish. Midwife appointment otherwise went well, first bump measurement and we're bang on the 50th centile. We talked about antenatal classes, as I'm going nct she recommended that I book on to the 3rd nhs workshop which is the tour of the unit. Next appt is at 28 weeks and is a double as they repeat bloods.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. I think I had better post on the big thread, can't believe it has come round so quick! I will see some of you there soon and will keep lurking here

Glad those who've had the 20 week scans have gone well, we have ours Friday. Can't believe that will then have us half way!
See you on the big thread soon Penguin :) sorry you had a rough day, hope you feel better tomorrow.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Trying to reorganise midwife appt for the week we're away. So I can do that appt at the growth scan the week before so we're now checking the procedure for the next one, which would also coincide with the growth scan.

Poor lady at the children's centre keeps having to go away and catch the midwife and call again.
  • I've had three scans due to complications, dating scan was most recent and the only one I was allowed to keep the picture. Mid term scan is booked for 21st March but like I said all my scans have been by trainees so far and I just want a nice pretty scan photo that I can show off. My dating scan photo looks like LO has two heads! It's my first baby / first pregnancy so this is all new. Don't know if there's a small part of me that is just impatient about the gender!

Woollisox- no complications early on so only had dating scan so far but with small risk of Zika exposure, 4 weekly growth scans are deemed necessary after the 'normal' 20 week one next week. Did get some pictures of my jumping bean at 12 weeks but to us, they look like any other scan for anyone else (either that or an Alien/ parasite - thanks grandma to be for reminding me about the latter!)

Also my first pregnancy and actually just want baby now please. Pregnancy is a boring list of side effects!

Agreed! Heartburn has made an appearance today, and I don't have anything on me to take for it (not normally an issue!) :(

Definitely agree with wanting baby now. I am so impatient but hoping that with everything that still needs to get done, that my due date will be here in no time.

Firebird I've been plagued with heartburn for a while now, but I am starting to see a pattern with what foods set it off, so just trying to avoid them. Other than that rennies and liquid gaviscon works wonders.

Good luck with your scan on Friday New, if you are able to are you going to find out the sex?

Hope you feel better soon Penguin. I should be joining you on the big thread next week after my appointment. I can's seem to wrap my head around the fact I'll be 24 weeks this weekend. As much as time has dragged, 24 weeks seems to have come all of a sudden.
  • I'll join the club of the seriously impatient! I'm going back to work for three months hopefully from next week and we wanted to get as much done as possible whilst I'm at home so our nursery is practically finished after painting this weekend and putting all the furniture in. Just missing a baby!!

Nursery is now painted but work has halted as OH found some issues with the electrics- he knows enough to diagnose as WRONG but best to get sparky to fix. However, I've spent three days so far not getting hold of sparky.

Just ordered another size bigger of bras too- same back size but now 3 cup sizes up and only 19 weeks ?!?!? AGRH

I went up 2 cup sizes within the first 6 weeks (had to buy emergency new bras during a lunchbreak as was getting so uncomfortable in old ones plus 4-boob syndrome!) and had gone up a further cup size by 16 weeks. I bought 2 new bras in that size and they are thankfully still OK now at 21 weeks so I'm really hoping that's it. This is despite only having put on 6lb in total and with a pretty small bump. And I was top-heavy before pregnancy!! I would have happily accepted no growth at all!
