Yeah my stuff came today but most of it is just too big. Gonna try again and order a 10 especially when it comes to jeans. Has anyone had any luck with bump bands etc? I miss wearing jeans and I seem to have trouble finding ones that fit properly, other than the ones I own, but unfortunately size 10 no longer fits in the waist/hips and a 12 is too big in the legs 😫

Just got my combined screening letter back. Less than a week despite BH yesterday. At least as it's a letter, you kind of know before opening it as it would be a call if not all ok. All lower risk. A relief and another tick on the way towards baby arriving but weirdly emotional *damn hormones*
  • I'm really struggling with clothes at the minute april. I still don't really have a noticeable bump to other people (except maybe at the gym in tight sport leggings which thankfully are stretchy enough to still fit!) but I have totally grown out of every single pair of my normal size 8 jeans and trousers. I have one pair of size 10 jeans from years ago when I was a little heavier which I have dug out and have been wearing this past week but even they are getting uncomfortable by the end of the day. I have been using the hairband trick plus long vest tops with some of my other jeans and that just about works but isn't ideal or particularly comfortable.

I have a bump band that I bought mid-December but I find I have to adjust it occasionally and it can rise up at the back so I wouldn't use it without a hairband for insurance!! It can definitely be useful though.

I went into my local (pretty large) town to attempt shopping for maternity wear last week and I was quite disappointed. There were no normal shops with more than a token (5-10 pieces) section of maternity wear so I ended up with a choice of JoJo Maman Bebe and Mothercare. I liked most of the maternity collection in JoJo but their sizing was way out of kilter. I have 38" hips so rightly should be a 10-12 for my hips but in their jeans and trousers I was an XS which is supposed to be a 6!! It was at least consistent throughout the collection so I suggest anyone shopping there sizes down... whilst their jeans did fit I found them far too long and quite expensive so I thought I'd buy them as a last resort so left empty handed. Mothercare had the opposite problem - sizing came up small. Plus their jeans just didn't fit me right so I also left there empty handed. I did pick up a couple of nice tops and a swimsuit though from JoJo which was good but they probably won't be needed for a few more weeks as I can get away with normal tops for now.

In the end I ordered a couple of pairs of maternity jeans from Gap as all my normal jeans are Gap size 26 which fit me perfectly. Really hoping the same applies for their maternity jeans!! They did have a good selection and reasonably priced in the sale. Sadly with all the bank holidays etc although I ordered on the 29th no sign of dispatch yet so I will have to struggle on for a few more days with hairbands and my one pair of size 10 jeans.

Between Christmas and New Year OH and I went to Mothercare for a browse to start getting ideas and walked away with an ex-display car seat in the model we had already decided upon based on the Which? report; £100 off! So really chuffed with that even though it's still quite early. Now we just need to get a compatible travel system and carrycot and then we'll be sorted for the "transport" bits. No rush on that front though - I'm currently just keeping an eye out for deals.

"New Year fever" has infected us and yesterday we managed to practically empty what was our study which will become the nursery in preparation for tomorrow when we are hiring a van to pick up some dining room furniture from the in-laws and then take the old desk from the study to my parents to live for a while until we get a bigger house and are able to have it back. Then the study/nursery will be completely empty and we can start re-filling it. Haven't ordered a cot yet but last week when I ordered a new chest of drawers for our room (old one cheap and falling apart) we decided to kill two birds with one stone and at the same time ordered a wardrobe and chest of drawers for the nursery. So the room will be all ready for when those arrive. Phew! Busy busy but seeing as I am currently unemployed it's good to get things done! Feeling so energetic at the moment but also really relaxed in my mind which is great.

Hope everyone also had a good festive period and is raring to go for the new year!

    Hi everyone,
    Happy new year!
I couldn't resist the John Lewis offer on the Uppababy - so it's being delivered today :j a bit early but next week we are both off and having a mega clear out so there will be room for it to be stored.
I keep feeling strange things but I don't know if it's baby - it's upper abdomen and feels a bit like tickling or popping?! I've always had active guts (sorry TMI but when u have had 20 junior doctors having a listen cos of how noisy it is, you realise you are a bit unusual!) so I dunno if it's just that. I'm 15+6 today. Sadly the nausea is ever present but hopefully it'll wear off soon.
Mum has booked tickets for the baby show in London, think hubby is gonna have a hard time reigning both of us back in :rotfl:
    Hope everyone is well :)
    Baby due 21/06/2017 :)

Glad to hear everything is ol Arbrighton.

Snow I picked up a belly belt from Mothercare, first time I've been back in my skinnies for weeks. I've found next to nothing in the shops. I'm hoping this belly belt can help me stay in my jeans for a bit longer till the warmer weather, then I can go back to wearing midi dresses and trainers :)

Pidge that's a similar feeling I've been getting this past week or two, I've put it down to my gut. It usually occurs early evening. So maybe it is baby. Hopefully the nausea will disappear soon.

Im 17 +1 and I'm still wearing my Asda wonderfit jeans, size small, for general day to day.

But for our longer car journeys, I had a pair of Primark extra thick leggings. So comfy!

H&M maternity tops are great, I'm a size 12-14 before pregnancy and currently in size M. They have a sale online too.
I'm living in two jeans - blue and black from asos - I have small legs so only place I could find petite leg. Both under bump but think I might need over bump soon!

    Scan tomorrow!

I'm still struggling with jeans. My debenhams under bump ones aren't very comfy. My next ones are oversized, but are manageable with a belt. I'm hoping the jeggings and skinny jeans I've ordered from next are better, but they're not due in store until Monday. Dresses and leggings are definitely my best options, but jeans are better if it's cold. My black new look trousers fit now too, so will wear them for scan on Thursday. I love my h&m tops too (but liked their non maternity basics anyway)

Pidge and April- both those descriptions sound like baby to me. Mine initially was higher, but a colleague said it is because you are feeling fluid above baby moving, not baby directly.

I'm struggling to get comfortable now, last night I didn't sleep longer than an hour so work was rubbish today (first day back). Also I struggle to bend down for anything!

Has anyone looked at nct classes? I think we're going to book them this week, although they are pricey, but we only moved to the area 18 months ago so think it will help with the social support. I also really want to do aquanatal classes, but can only find them during the day.

Edit: vanilla- next do petite leg as I have the same problem! I couldn't find any on asos in a size 10.

Glad to see everyone is ok, welcome Ratison :)
We've been so busy over the Christmas break decluttering the spare room (and most of the house actually  ) the spare room is now clear for becoming the nursery and the old double bed is going to my mums.
We brought bottles in the sales at Mothercare, went for the Philips Avent set which includes steriliser and breast pump. I really want to breast feed but want to be prepared for bottling and expressing too.
We also did go and purchase the pram we found. It's a Joolz day with wverything we need including the car seat (borrowing Isofix base from a friend). It's like new so really pleased with only paying £400 when its worth around £1200 with everything that's with it :money:
Ordered a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table set which matches our other furniture and will last them through all ages.

Brought some jeans and leggings from H&M but struggling to find tops, may have a look on asos and would like another pair of jeans.

Enjoy your scan tomorrow vanilla xx
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Vanilla my PT also recommended H&M but the section in the H&M closest to me is rubbish. I'm hoping to find a better selection when I'm in London next weekend.

Penguin, I find sleeping with a pillow at my side helps me get comfy. We booked the NCT classes, start in April. Booked them as a few folk have passed comments on our NHS ones and I wanted to make friends, and the NCT ones are the same group throughout.

New, had a wee nosey at the prom you bought, it's really nice. Not a brand I've come across but will def be having a look especially as initial reviews are all positive. Will pop into our Mammas & Pappas next time in that way and have a proper nosey.

Vanilla hope the scan goes well. I usually get my petit jeans from Asos and they fit well usually. Hoping the maternity ones I've ordered are just the same.
