12-24 weeks pregnant (part 4)

I think we all react differently to pregnancy. I'm 18+1 and have a mega bump, but bizarrely I've only put on about 5lb but it looks so much more! Have been in maternity clothes since 13/14 weeks. I only lost about 2lb during the first 12 weeks. My appetite is pretty much normal (and that's quite greedy), ace the nausea passes quickly now (very different to first trimester). Am still very tired. OH tried to take a nice bump photo yesterday as we didn't really have any, but I look so tired in them all! On the plus side, I'm feeling lots of movement now, particularly in the evening and at night (think that's why my sleep is rubbish!), and OH has been able to feel it a couple of times which is lovely. Think we've got an acrobat on our hands.
Hope everyone has a good week before Christmas and there's not too much rushing around! We're trying to fit built in wardrobes and then have a mega decorating session over Christmas.0 -
Sweet hopefully your hospital allows you to find out
Snow I'm the same, now I've had 2 scans I can't help but look at baby stuff. I've bought a piece of clothing after each scan and pretty much spent this morning looking at baby clothes haha. My OH would kill me if he knew how much I was bookmarking :rotfl:
Penguin, I'm roughly 2 weeks behind yourself and have nothing really. Put on a few pounds, and no longer a toned tummy but that's it. One of my friends is about 20 weeks and she has a fair size of bump on her, and OH boss is about the same as yourself and he said he noticed a bump on her last week. Penguin I had a rubbish night again last night, I placed a pillow just under my stomach/inbetween my legs and I was able to get back to sleep about an hour later. Maybe worth a try?0 -
Hello, I'm moving over here at last
We had our scan last Monday but they put me back slightly so I'm 12+3 today and felt I was ready to hop on over here.
Due 30th June and I'm hoping for not a late one haha, as we have BIL's wedding 2weeks after due date
A relief that constant nausea has eased. My appetite has kind of come back, although I'm still not 100% with meat and I'm finding I need to eat slightly smaller portions than before.
Have yet to dare step on the scale again yet.....Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Quiet round here! I'm feeling calmer the closer we get to Christmas - now I finally have all my Christmas puddings made and delivered to relatives; got the last Christmas presents today and finished all our cards! They'll be posted on the last day with guaranteed Christmas delivery now but that's significantly better than a day later! Must do better next year...
Feeling "less pregnant" somehow the last couple of days, but I'm putting it down to continued improvement in my first trimester symptoms. My digestive system seems to have sorted itself out which is great. I was really suffering from indigestion but it's pretty much gone so I can return to a normal eating pattern. However one thing I have noticed which is new is that my centre of gravity has subtly shifted. I guess it's the uterus starting to emerge from the pelvis and come up and forward. Feel like I'll be rocking the pregnancy waddle before I know it... Still not much of a bump but my lovely toned abs is a thing of the past now. I guess what I'm developing is more of a pot belly - looks like I'm just suffering from bad posture! Thankfully I have one pair of work trousers that can contain it and they should see me through this week. I've started the ball rolling looking for a short term contract in the new year so hopefully I'll find something work wise. If not, at least I'll save money on maternity work clothes!!
What's everyone's opinion about going January sales shopping for baby bargains? I'll be about 15 weeks when we go looking. Feels early but equally I don't want to pay more later because we were too superstitious to go shopping in the sales...Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!0 -
I'll only be 17 weeks in the New Year, but I think we are definitely going to at least look at the sales. The problem is, I have no idea whatsoever what we need to be looking at for prams/etc. It all seemed so easy last time!
I was speaking to a client of mine earlier, and apparently Basildon hospital DO allow you to find out, so yay if we do decide to find out. He just wants to buy clothes, and I knew he'd change his mind :rotfl:0 -
New I'm still with my PT so still recording my weight weekly, surprisingly only put on 7lbs but I think thats also because I eat more food now and I'm no longer on a cutting phase.
Snow I'm with you, abs have gone and can't quite tell whether I have a wee pot belly or wee bump :rotfl: sometimes I'm convinced its a pot belly and other times I'm a bump.
I'll be 17 weeks Xmas Eve and the OH, mum and sister have convinced me to try the Next Boxing day sale. I'm sure I must be mad, but I know loads of folk who always get really good bargains. As for the likes of prams etc think we might wait, purely storage wise. Our flat isn't the biggest and still in the decluttering stage for a few of the rooms.
Sweet has he any preference for either a boy or girl?0 -
I think we'll possibly start looking in the sales, although not going to battle the shops too much! We have a John Lewis about 10 mins away so will probably start there. My mum has kindly offered to buy the pram. I'm 20 weeks on NYE so think we'll wait until after scan on 5th January. Knowing us we'll probably end up leaving it all until Easter.
I'm still feeling exhausted, but slept much better last night so hoping this is a new trend. Also seems a bit all over the place emotion wise- today I struggled so much with giggles in a meeting at work, oops! Getting lots more movement, it's not stopped today!
I saw a colleague yesterday who is on mat leave, but is just past due date- she confirmed that my local hospital will definitely let you know the sex of the baby, although she chose not to find out.0 -
Ladies don't panic about sale shopping - I'm 28 weeks now and we haven't bought anything yet!! If you know what you want and it's in the sale though then obviously go for it, but you still have ages if it feels too early xxOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -
No, April neither of us are bothered.
He says he thinks it's a girl as he's destined to live with long hair (that gets everywhere, no matter how careful you think you are wth it) and glitter - I'm a nail tech so I am frequently covered in it :A and my daughter is craft daft, so there is no escape!
I think he just wants to find out so he can buy lots of things!
Has anyone had or is considering a 4d scan? I think they look amazing!0 -
My wife brought up that she wanted to see the baby again (she's 22 weeks) so I mentioned doing a 4d scan but looking at the images online I'm not too sure. Not something I would want to display or keep anywhere. I think they look a little creepy to be honest.0
