Had the most stressful morning. Woke up to a bit of spotting (it was brown and stopped pretty much straight away). I called the midwife and because of last time they told me to come in and get checked over. They checked the heartbeat and did an internal exam and all looked fine, but they are going to give me another scan this week for reassurance. Have to call on Monday to book in. This is the longest 9 months of my life...

Sorry you've had a scary time MancMama. In my head i know that red fresh blood rather than brown is more tge concern, along with any pain and cramping. However try telling me that if I was spotting brown blood and it wouldn't stop me panicking.im glad your scan went well.

Not the worry doesn't stop really. I thought it would go after the 20 week scan and although it's not as bad now I still panic if I haven't felt regular movement even though at under 22 weeks I'm sure it's normal.

I hope your reassurance scan goes well.

That is scary MancMama but if you've heard the heart beat I'm sure everything is fine. Glad they are giving you a scan though, just to be doubly sure!

I had a wee burst of energy last week and thought maybe the tiredness had finally gone...but no, I was completely gubbed all weekend and didn't even leave the house!

Really sorry to hear that MancMama, must have been frightening.

We've had a busy and stressful month.

The first 20 week scan couldn't be completed as the baby wasn't playing ball so left feeling a bit deflated.

The following day I had to go up to the hospital as I found some blood when wiping. Everything was fine but was really worrying at the time. I am rhesus negative so I had to have an injection. It was quite painful and left a nice bruise!

We went to another scan a week later to try and finish off the 20 week scan. They managed to see everything they couldn't see on the first one....plus that we are having a girl :) However her head was coming up as small, so we were referred to a consultant.

We had to wait two weeks for the consultants appointment (which they changed the night before to an earlier time!). Everything seems to be OK and in proportion, just the baby seems to be on the small side. So that was a relief, but still left me slightly worried.

She was funny when the consultant was scanning her as she kept kicking/punching where the consultant was pressing:rotfl:

I have been feeling her move a lot more so that's been nice and even managed to feel her from the outside on Saturday night, she seems to stop when DH tries to feel her.

We have managed to get a bit more done with the house, and actually managed to unpack the kitchen stuff this weekend. That meant a lot of washing up and organising. It does mean that the babies room is a bit clearer so might be able to decorate it soon! :T

The heat has not been great. Felt like I was melting a couple of times on the way home and didn't go out for my lunch time walk as it was just too hot.

I haven't been sleeping great any way so the heat hasn't helped. Yesterday I was so tired I cried. DH said to go have a nap but I just couldn't sleep so we went for a walk instead. It seemed to help a bit! Also had a decaff iced latte which cheered me up!

Hope everyone else is well. I think this is officially my last week on this thread

    hi everyone!!

gosh it feels like forever since I've been on here - life has been manic with work, fitting in midwife appointments, shopping with parents for nursery stuff and crying over my jeans and regular work trousers not fitting any more even though my bump isnt all that big!!

thankfully with the lovely weather we have had I have been able to wear maxi dresses and the other day I had a little splurge at Asda on some maternity stuff!

got my 16 week appointment on Thursday (even though Im 17 weeks today!) - hopefully the midwife will let us hear the heartbeat too as it seems so long ago since the 1st scan. As Ive had no morning sickness I sometimes wonder if its all real!
OH is extremely impatient and has booked an early gender scan for friday so we can start concentrating on names lol!

how is everyone anyway?! good to see so many from the less than 12 weeks thread here!

Thanks for the support all - went in this morning for the reassurance scan and all seemed normal - baby was measuring fine and moving around like mad. They were looking to see where the placenta was in case it was low lying and causing the spotting but it was well out of the way at the back. Nothing else in the womb causing bleeding that they could see.

Had another internal and it seems I have cervical ectropian which basically means my cervix can get inflamed and bleed a little - its tightly closed though and its not threatening to the baby, more worrying for me! They said it may continue on and off or stop completely and to just call them if there are any instances and they will keep checking me over... so at least I know what's going on.

Unbelievably when we were in the waiting room my best friend and her husband walked in for their 12 week scan!! We had no idea, they'd kept it quiet as we had our own worries going on and didn't want to add to it. So I have gained a mat leave buddy at least! What a strange week.

Hope everyone else is well xx
