  • Congratulations Tinks :)

Haha, we have been saying it for a lot longer than 3 weeks but you will be so glad when it's done, it's a big thing out of the way! Good luck!

Oh Tinks how lovely, congrats on joining Team Pink - I can't wait to find out in 4 weeks which Team we are on!!

Another one here getting the loft boarded - we need the hatch widening etc too so looking at getting that done before 20 weeks and then we can start clearing the office for the nursery... found myself looking at furniture and we even measured up the room yesterday... all very exciting. Dreading the heawave this week, sleeping is difficult at the moment anyhow. Better dig the fans out again!

I borrowed a Doppler from a friend and managed to catch the heartbeat yesterday, it was so fast compared to my own! Was reassuring to hear and hoping I might get lucky and hear it again next week at the 16 week appt.

Feeling a bit rubbish today but much better than a few weeks ago. Maybe the mysterious energy burst is finally on its way?!

Have a great day all x

Ooh I also spotted Cosatto Giggle 2 deal on Mothercare yesterday, £350 for the frame, pram, pushchair, footmuff and a changing bag in the Toodle Pip colourway - plus a free matching car seat.

Seems like a pretty good deal to me but does anyone have any experience with the Giggle 2? I know there were issues with the Giggle x

  • MancMama... i nearly got the giggle 2. I know 2 people who have it and love it, no problems with it at all. All the issues from the first version have been fixed. I love the patterns too, it's so different :)

    Congrats tinks!

Appointment went well today, apart from the fact I was taken 45 mins late and I was starting to get a bit fed up as it almost made me miss an appointment with my osteopath, made it with one min to spare! Anyway I did get to hear the heartbeat. The midwife did warn me they might not be able to pick it up and not to be concerned but there it was, straight away as clear as anything and SO fast! Hubby recorded it on his phone so we can let the grandparents hear it later!

Mancmama we need our hatch widened too, and a new velux window and electrics and just about everything. The guy said it would take about a week all in so I'd like to get it done ASAP so we can get organised properly.

Glad the appointment went well PP, looking forward to mine next week now.

Feeling a bit fed up today about my lack of bump... I am on the higher side of overweight (size 18) and have only gained a couple of pounds so far (in the "normal" range) but my colleague is a size 6 and has a beautiful little bump... I never thought I would be jealous of someone putting on weight!! It's occurred to me that I might not show "properly" for several months yet due to my size as I have a bit of a belly already... most people probably still don't even realise I am pregnant!

Not a major rant really but it was playing on my mind... I know everyone is different and I am so grateful to be here, with or without the bump showing!!

Oh and this heat can hurry up and break its driving me mad!!

    Hope everyone is well x

  • MancMama I'm about the same size as you and my bump didn't make an appearance until I was 20 weeks and then all of a sudden there it was growing bumpier by the day! :D Definitely look pregnant now not just fatter than normal :rotfl:

MancMama with your first it's common not to 'show' until 20 weeks or more. Last time I still didn't look obviously pregnant at my 20 week scan and it was weeks later. Maternity tops make it more obvious and your bump is bigger later in the day compared to the morning.

Also no weight gain is quite common in the first trimester, even a loss is normal if your nausea was bad. From then it starts to go on, usually between 0.5 to 2lbs a week. I find I get ravenous now and can eat an awful lot!

Congratulations on team pink Tinks. I feel like I should get my gender prediction confirmed as the sonographer stressed that it's not definite, particularly with a girl as 'something' could have been tucked away. Did they give you the same caveats?

How has everyone been coping with the heat? I'm fine as long as there's a breeze and I'm not physically exerting myself.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

The sonographer was pretty certain as the images were so clear! He did say obviously they can never say anything is 100% certain, I think they're scared of getting sued! Hopefully we will get it confirmed again at the 20 week scan. I would have felt a little more sure about it all if it was a boy, as I guess it's much harder to get that wrong!! We were told though if at the 20 week scan she turns out to be a he, the gender scan clinic will do a 4D scan for free.

The Giggle 2 is on our list of possibles! It looks lovely!
