  • Bit daft of them not to just give you a handful of forms so you can go when you need to - only perk of working in the hospital lab is easy access to request forms and urine pots! :rotfl:

I've got to have a GTT as well but won't be for ages yet - still not heard back about my 2nd ultrasound so I'll ask the midwife about it when I see her in two weeks.

Steady away all boring, boring over here - long may it continue! :D
  • My GTT isn't until early August but thought I would book it while I was on the phone about something else :) I'll ask the midwife on wednesday about blood forms, it would make sense, I don't want to traipse to the hospital every time I need a blood test!

Bump is getting bigger! I think I need to start looking through my clothes and vacuum packing away the stuff that I definitely won't be wearing for a while now.

I'm feeling lots of movement and kicks regularly now despite having an anterior placenta, which is very reassuring. We bought a couple of bundles of clothes locally for very little and couldn't believe the quality/quantity of the items. We probably won't need to buy much more which is great and worked out much cheaper.

We still need to look more into travel system/pushchair. I really liked the look of the Venicci one we saw locally but need to do some more research. We haven't really spent much money on anything else so I don't begrudge it on a pushchair if it will be good quality and last.

I hope everybody is keeping well?

We had the 16 week midwife appointment this afternoon and got to hear the baby's heart beat :D Was glad DH was there to hear it too.

Everything seems to be ok. Just need to be a bit more careful then getting up and changing position as my heart rate goes up quickly.

Not too long till the next scan! Hoping to start feeling the baby moving soon.

We'll have to look into prams soon, no idea where to start!

Hi, I haven't posted on this thread yet but I had my scan last week. I'm due 28th November with my second who is 2 years old. As it's my second I already have a pram and nursery furniture. I just need to get a buggy board and decorate the spare room for my daughter to move into leaving the nursery free.

I'm so fed up of still feeling sick all day every day. It's so hard to work and commute while feeling rubbish. When did others feel better? My midwife told me I was anemic but when I rang asking for the results to be sent to my GP, in order to get a prescription, another midwife said I wasn't. So i'm a bit confused and don't know whether to continue taking iron supplements which I bought.

  • We bought a doppler last week and couldn't hear anything but managed to find the heartbeat this morning which was AMAZING!! And of course I cried :p I'll be 16 weeks along tomorrow, quite impressed that I managed to find it!

Ordered our travel system this week too - we're getting the sola2 from Mamas & Papas - it's £50 off this week and there was a 10% code online  Still super early I know but it's nice to have all the big things sorted!

Kynthia you might be better off just asking what your results actually are - ask for the haemoglobin and MCV results, they'll give you an idea if you're anaemic/iron deficient :) I've moved past feeling queasy all the time in the last couple of weeks so should hopefully be anytime now for you! I just sort of realised it had gone away along with the need for neverending sleep so am enjoying myself while that lasts!

Think we've sorted out the bathroom being done - work should start at the beginning of July - cannot wait for that to be sorted out :D

I thought I'd ask a few questions to get to know people a little better on this thread:

So who is going to find out what they are having and who is going to remain team yellow?
Have you decided on a pram/pushchair/travel system? What do you like about it?
What about changing bags, have you looked yet?
When are you planning on going on maternity leave?
Have you found any nice places for maternity clothes or are you making do with baggy/floaty normal clothes?
Have you found anything else for you or the baby that's made you smile?

We remained team yellow last time and it was exciting to announce to everyone we'd had a baby girl. However there's not as much fun buying clothes when you don't know as there isn't as much colourful gender neutral stuff as there used to be. This time I'm desperate to know, buy stuff in advance and redecorate tge nursery.

We already have an Uppababy Vista so will reuse it. It's great for tall parents. We'll probably get a buggy board for my daughter as she'll be nearly 3.

I have a Pink Lining Not So Plain Jane bag but really want something new. I saw a nice turquoise bag from a brand called Walking Mum and another I think my OH would prefer from Skip-hop.

I'm being made redundant but don't have an end date yet. This means I won't get the enhanced maternity pay I'd usually get. So i'm tempted to go on maternity leave really early. The earliest I can go is at 26 weeks which would be extremely early.

I'm not in maternity clothes yet but I've just put in tge wash all my stuff from last time. I'll need more summer stuff this time though. I haven't bought this baby anything yet as it's quite early. I might wait until the 20 week scan.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

  • I'd love to know what we're having - I'm hoping for a girl really but a boy would be lovely too! My sister is having a boy 16 weeks before me so it would be nice to have one of each in the family! :p It's our first and I'd love to get some gender specific clothing going on - we've got a few neutral bits but there's really not that much choice around and they can be pretty dull :o

I got a changing bag from ASDA a few weeks ago - it was only £25 in the sale and is pretty boring - it's grey with some plant looking pattern on it :D Should be alright and the reviews for it on other sites were promising so I'm hopeful it'll do the job!

I'm going on maternity leave two weeks before my due date - with an extra week of holiday before that - well all being well that far along anyway!

I had my toenails shellaced yesterday which made me smile! It's getting uncomfy for me to bend over to paint my own and now they're all shiny and lovely :rotfl:

I got a few maternity basics from New Look and asos - leggings, jeans and tops but not worn any of them yet. I have stolen my OH's trackie bottoms though as they're nice and loose on my tummy - can't bear things putting any sort of pressure on it right now so while I'm at home these are fab!

What a good idea Kynthia :)

We aren't finding out but I'm not a huge fan of green or yellow so trying to persuade DH to do the nursery in pale grey so we can add colours later.

After lots of research, and a visit to another baby place yesterday, I think we are decided on the silver cross wayfarer, it fits in my car without removing wheels, it extends tall enough for DH, I can get adaptors for a friends maxi cosi car seat (I wouldn't get a secondhand seat from anyone else but know she will have looked after it). We are going to a mothercare event in a couple of weeks so probably order it then and take advantage of 10% discount (and hopefully 3% cashback from quidco!). It's either the Chelsea edition or chilli red.

I've always said I want a cath kidston change bag but undecided. The silver cross ones are not nice though so I will find a pretty one!

Our new MD is doing a review of the company and it may be that we find out next week there are redundancies. Which would be rubbish as I won't have hit 25 weeks of pregnancy yet. But, if I survive it then I plan to go on maternity 2 weeks before my due date as I would like as much leave as possible after baby arrives. I will probably only have 9 months off as we probably can't afford for me to not get paid for 3 months but it will depend on my company KIT days etc.

I've bought a few maternity tops in the sales and will get a couple of pairs of jeans but at home I'm just going to get some of those slightly baggy cotton patterned trousers as I read they are good for maternity then to wear after baby arrives. I have a wedding 2 weeks before I'm due so if we decide to go (it's in Scotland and we live in Essex!) then I'll need to find something nice! I will probably have to hit primarni soon to get some baggier tops as my bump is starting to grow now and my boobs are getting a bit too big for my currently loose vest tops etc! I keep looking for cheap little summer floaty dresses to see me through (I'm due 04.11.16) but so far no luck!

Not really looked for many baby bits yet as our nursery is currently full of toot and until we get that cleared there is no room for any bits. Our neighbours got us a cute highland cow bib, I bought a baby Scotland rugby kit and highland cow booties so we are all ready for the six nations next year :) we also got a beautiful set of bib, gro, vest, hat and booties from spitalfields market yesterday, it's bright orange and tiger themed!

Ruby my sister is pregnant too and we're due within a week of each other. It's lovely and I think it will be nice to have each other during maternity leave. Both of us have children already so not as exciting as if we were both having our first.

Pyschopathbabble I think grey with accents of baby blue or pink sound very stylish. Ours was an off - white with owl prints and colourful stickers but I'm not sure what we'll do for this baby. I hope your job is safe as I can't imagine job hunting when pregnant is fun. Perhaps they'll be too scared to make a pregnant women redundant, or would feel too bad about it. My place would usually redeploy you but my whole field of work is going.
