We went pram shopping for the first time yesterday....what a minefield!!
I really liked the Joolz Geo Mono in Elephant Grey :) Does anyone have any knowledge of Joolz products?

We also liked the Cybex Platinum Sirona car seat as the ability to turn the seat would be much better for me with my back.

Does anyone have one of these or can recommend another swivel car seat?

My sister has a Joolz and loves it, but that's as far as my knowledge goes.

We opted for the bugaboo chameleon 3 after trying out a few. Mother care still had up a sign with an old offer on it, which they honoured.

It's still in the box, as we're still going through stuff, making space.

Just ordered a second pair of jeans, went for over the bump this time and also a nice dress in the next clearance that will be ok for work hopefully. I've given up on my black trouser search so will just buy more tights and wear dresses to work every day.

One quick question, do people tend to put the baby behind them when they are driving or behind the passenger seat? (My random question for the day!!)

Haven't seen the chameleon. We went for bugaboo bee3. Is it similar? You can have it convert to either style?

Busy long weekend. Bit tired now. Emptied the bookshelves from what will be the nursery and put them in a different spare room with all the gym equipment. Stashed a load of things from nursery and office in the attic. So we have room to play with when the decorating starts. More and more things arriving now. Getting quite excited.

One more week and i move up to the big girl group on here! 24 weeks and over. All seems very real now. Especially with her getting bigger and me feeling more and more kicking and movement The huge kicks still take me by surprise.

GTT tests tomorrow. Not much fun. Been warned to take kindle to keep me occipied and food and drinks for after it, as it can feel like a long day.

We are getting the Joolz geo in lobster red.. it is stunning.. it seems really sturdy and the seats have a higher weight limit than most other pushchairs.. most only go up to 15kg which is much less than my 2 year old weighs.. We weren't going to get a new one but the brakes on mine broke and the rear axle is bent and as it is discontinued spares are not available.

The second seat which attaches where the basket goes is suitable from birth and lies totally flat but doesn't interfere with your legs when walking.. and when you don't need it the basket is huge.

The seat unit is higher than most others (easier for toddlers to press the buttons for the road crossings lol)

The handle isn't foam.. major bonus.. the foam ones are horrid and split and have chunks knocked out and look messy very quickly.

It is amazing to steer.. even one handed with a large toddler in it. The seats are actually wide enough for her too which is rare.. the icandy the hood was on her head and the Oyster she didn't even fit in the seat.

After summer she has 3 school runs a day at just turned 3 she will not manage it.. some can, not this one.. so we decided a tandem was best for our needs.

Keep your eye out for reductions though.. ours had a fair chunk off from one shop but no others reduced theirs. They also keep their value well which many don't.

At the moment the Silvercross wayfarer, M&P sola and the icandy seem most popular.

Car seats we have the besafe izi kid suitable from birth to 'until outgrown' at about 5-6 depending on size and weight of the child.. but we also have a bus to put them in! We had the besafe izi go infant seat we ued a couple of times which was lovely .. previous to that we had a britax one I wouldn't have given.. rebranded to the b-safe now but just as tiny.. it was dreadful and the baby screamed the second we put her in until we took her out it was so uncomfortable despite having the best reviews.. the besafe one was flatter and wider so much nicer.. no head lolling and the straps fit better and were easier to adjust.

Just popped out and picked up a cute little Mickey mouse 3 piece set- hubby loved his Mickey mouse teddy when he was little and so he wanted to get something Mickey for our baby. Also got some blue muslins that were on offer. Going to try and resist buying any more bits for now, especially as I think baby will have lots bought for it and also as I need to get my exam out the way next week then I can concentrate on sorting out baby's room (currently a guest room) but it has a chest of drawers in which I need to empty as that can be for baby, and I also have an Ikea shelf/ storage unit that will be perfect for baby bits that I need to empty, but this means rehoming all my sewing bits!! Once baby's room is a bit ordered we can then sort out exactly what he needs.

We have a sofa bed in the room too, but I'm thinking as baby won't be in his room until he's 6 months that we should keep it until then, that way oh can always go sleep in there if baby is keeping him up and he has to get up early for work.

My gut feeling is behind the passenger seat so you still have some line of vision if you turn your head when you're stopped? Although I've mostly had older children in the car who aren't rear facing so it made more difference then.

We still need to brave the travel system/pushchair shops again. We've looked at some. The Venicci was lovely, quite a lot of money though. I had a look at the iCandy out of sheer curiosity and wasn't very impressed with the feel of it, the sale assistant also said she thought many of the cheaper ones offered better quality/value too.

the safest place in the event of an accident is the middle of the rear seat, but possibly easier for you to access as the driver if they are behind the passenger seat.

the passenger seat is often referred to as the 'death seat' being the most dangerous place to be in the event of an accident. You can use infant seats in the front so long as the airbag is disabled though.

IMO children should always be in the back.

I can't turn my passenger airbag off anyway, but wouldn't want him in the front anyway. I'm not I would be able to get isofix in the middle, maybe I need to explore that. I was thinking behind me would be best , as there would be plenty of room for me to lean in when putting him in, I just need to get used to not pushing my seat right back when I get in and out.

I'm also worried that as my bump gets bigger it's going to be more difficult for me to drive as there isn't much room between my stomach and steering wheel even pre pregnancy- will have to see how that works out, I reallyneed to be able to drive until 35 weeks as that's when I plan on going off work. It may be I'll have to have a play and see if I can adjust my seat a bit (I have to have it on the most forward as I'm so short!!)

OH's focus only had isofix in the middle ... our current bus has it behind both front seats. I'm just struggling to get in the car at the moment.. there is no running board so I have to use my upper body strength, of which I have very little, to heave myself in using the top of the door and the handle.. something is going to break sooner or later lol.
