OH thought she might have been able to feel baby yesterday. While laying in bed at the end of the day. Said she could feel something that felt a bit like there was a 'mini washing machine in her tummy'. I suspect that's similar to this 'fluttering' description.

At the moment, as she's never felt it before, she has no clue whether she's just feeling wind!

But the fact that she noticed it as being a funny sensation makes me think it could well be the baby, 17+4

This is the same kind of description I would give the sensations I've felt, it's difficult to know 100% when you've never felt it before but as the days go on I'm more certain it's baby.

I hope everyone has a good day

This one started kicking and moving, that I could feel, about three weeks ago. Tiny feelings at first that you really had to concentrate on and then they get stronger all the time. She can kick so hard every now and then I am startled by it. I always think the longer washing machine feelings is her turning around and wriggling. The kicks are shorter, quick movements and more like someone poking you..but inside. Which I guess is what it is. She has a routine now. I know roughly when she will kick and wriggle most. Didn't think I'd get used to it at first, but love it now.
She knows I'm talking about her. Gave me a wiggle just now :)

Hi everyone, sorry for the slow reply - its been a rollercoaster of a week!!!

So, we have now told all of our friends and family and the news has started to sink in! We just need to get our house sorted as we still havent completed (6 months and counting!) but we are going to sign today so hopefully it is almost there now.

    Congratulations LisaLou!

What prompted you to find out on Tuesday? Did you not have any suspicions at all leading up to it? (like missed AF)

Hope everything is well, it's good in a way that you got to miss out on the first trimester which we found very slow and stressy! Times going much faster now.

Thank you :) No, i didnt have any symptoms at all! Ive had various issues down there over the years and was always told it would probably take a year or so for anything to come back once i came off the pill and that i should expect further investigation. So, we decided to come off the pill in January and nothing has happened since! I went to the docs to start the process for testing etc and took a test as i knew he would ask! Hence why we were pleased that itd happened so fast, but so shocked that i was so far gone!!

Everyone has said ive got through the worst bit, but i was so shocked and scared this last week. Esp with emergency appointments being set up here there and everywhere. I had my first NHS scan on Tuesday and they dated me 19+4 so my EDD is 16th September! I'll be off on maternity before i know it! I just wanted everything to be ok, but sonographer seemed to think it was fine, and we got to see little baby with its knees up and hand in its mouth :) Ive got to go back again in 2 weeks for another scan as i was so late booking in, and then midwife appointments and consultant appointments! Its all go!

Congratulations LisaLou! I had a relative who found at at around 13 weeks. The plus side is you're past the most critical stage and hopefully will be able to relax once it's all sunk in and you know baby is doing well. Best of luck with your scan!

Thanks Beckyy :) The private clinic actually called me on Friday last week and invited me back next Thursday for another scan as she was worried we were so shocked that we didnt take anything in! :) So obv have accepted the offer of another scan free of charge - £100 in my pocket! :money:

Anyone else got total baby brain going on? I'm forgetting names and words. Only ever managed to lose the bread and find it in the fridge after looking for ages once.
But just got in from the supermarket. Only nipped down for four things; pizza, trifle, grapes, waffles. I was saying them over and over.
Of course, came out with three huge bags of shopping and a johnson's baby carry case of lotions and potions to add to the pile. And none of the four things I wanted. Not going back out. Shattered, and bump is giving me a tough time today. So think I'll collapse for half an hour before I try to do anything useful.

Yes....i dont think i even would be confident at telling people my own name at the moment!!! Im forgetful at the best of times so i think im currently being a nightmare! eek!
    £2 Savers Club #156! :)
Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j
  • Congratulations Lisa! It probably doesn't help but the first few weeks is worrying and you have to hide it from everyone and the time DRAGS... so it's awesome that you are through all that and can just enjoy it all :)

I had a late-ish night last night and really feeling it today, I am fighting a migraine off, feel naseous and just want to cry. Might do a couple of hours work and then see if I can go home.

We picked up a jumperoo last night, it's very early to be buying one but it was a cheapy buy secondhand so I reckon we will be able to sell it on again very easily when the time comes. I'm excited to be telling a group of friends tomorrow evening, we are trying to work out a way to play our wedding highlights video as it has an announcement at the end!

All went well today, measurements were pretty much spot on. Had someone who was still learning scanning at first and she struggled to get a few measurements, not helped by the head being extremely low, but then the other person took over, did some more detailed checked and confirmed we are having a little boy!!!! Can't quite believe it even though I was sure it was a boy!!!

There does seem to be quite a few boys due on here.

People say there isn't much out there for boys but I've seen lots of cute things already.

I'm still in shock it's a boy, I'm only used to girls as I have sisters, and most my cousins are girls too!!
  • Congratulations ThinkPink :) my OH doesn't want to know so we are going for a surprise!

Everyone I know who is expecting or had a baby recently had had a boy, all but one!

I'm feeling very very hungry now and I've been eating LOADS. Granted it isn't bad food but even I'm surprised at how much more hungry I am this week.

Bump is definitely growing! I'm going to need to look for some more maternity clothes soon. I've got a couple of pairs of jeans so far but I've feeling less comfy in some of my others clothes now.

    How is everyone doing?

If you're still growing quickly you might be best off waiting out in getting actual maternity pants and just getting some comfy jogging bottoms, plain black tend to look like pants anyway and aren't obviously workout gear. They're a lot more comfy and it saves you replacing everything in a few weeks. I went up from a 12-16 very fast and got maternity stuff in 16, and big jeans in that size. Now I'm back in jogging pants as I'm still growing. Thought I was done growing.
