no idea, they never said but most of mine are anterior so it could be that.. or it may just be a very naughty attention seeking little gremlin .. again!! the quieter ones during pregnancy have been the more challenging children.. I think I may send it back if it is a naughty one !

I'm just glad I have the Doppler to check on it every few days... it was ok yesterday!

  • Gelly - Ah you sound so happy :) glad you had a nice holiday.

I am having the most weird, vivd, indepth dreams at the moment.

Pregnancy wise I'm feeling ok, but yesterday morning I had to have a camera up my nose for another condition I have but due to pregnancy I couldn't have the numbing cream. It now feels like I've been repeatedly punched in the nose :(.

On the flip side, after today I am off work til next Tuesday. Silly me has two trips away (all booked pre pregnancy!). I am going to Newcastle Weds to Fri with my friends and then Sat/Sun I'm going to Oxford with my OH. Have the Monday off to recover :rotfl:.

Ooh and I got my special parking permit yesterday for work :j. I get to park in the disabled spaces which is more or less a guarenteed space everyday, saves me walking the 5 minute trek up/down the hill to the main car park. And I get an extra 15 mins in bed as I can arrive later as I don't need to fight for a space :D.

Thanks flutterby - yes, things are looking promising for the first time in a long while.

Although, I do need to ask. Has anybody had the most annoying, frustrating and bad itching? I've had it now since just before I went away but noticed it most whilst abroad. Thought it might have been a prickly heat type thing as I was in the cold during the day and warm at night but it's still here now I'm home.

I've been scratching so badly, I've made my arms and legs bleed and have got little red spots all over. When I scratch, these white bumps come up and the itching is so overwhelming, it's keeping me awake at night.

I will speak to the midwife about it tomorrow but wondered if anybody else has had any issues with it?

yes.. with DS1 it was REALLY bad.. my hands and feet were awful. This one I have 2 itchy patches on my back which are driving me crazy.

There is a liver condition, obstetric cholestasis which causes intense itching but that is normally the last trimester.. but it is worth mentioning just on the off chance..

stop itching.. moisturising the itchy areas helps.. it just cools it a bit I think and soothes the itching.. making it bleed you stand the risk of introducing infection which could lead to scarring.

Thanks Pigpen, that's interesting as I've already been told (and it's in my notes) that given the APS diagnosis, I will be prone to liver and renal problems and high risk for pre-eclampsia.

I remember when Dad was sadly nearing the end of his life last year, he was itching like crazy - one of his conditions what chronic renal failure so I can see a possible connection and will definitely be mentioning it tomorrow.

I can see a blood test at the hospital coming up - good job they don't bother me!

  • No idea Gelly but I have been told itching on the boobs or tummy to get moisturiser out!

Bought few bits today - all 2nd hand from charity shop - which is fab. One grobag from mamas and papas, new microwaveable steriliser, 2 baby books and a formula holder (for later on if needed, lady threw it in for free!).

Probably won't get much more now until my next scan as I'll be pretty busy and not heading to shops.

Lucky you getting a special parking permit, even with SPD there's no point me asking for one as they won't give them! It's the whole pregnancy is a condition not a sickness arguement

Gelly I've had itching on my forearms for a couple of weeks, they say a possible alergy but I'm convinced it's stress related
  • I got an itchy tummy last time in the last trimester from all the stretching but pigpen is right about that condition, it is one to watch out for so definitely ring the midwife to put your mind at ease.

I keep getting a pain on one side of my section scar, it comes and goes but I didn't have it before i was pregnant. It was investigated at 8 weeks as they thought the pregnancy might be ectopic which it wasn't. Pain settled for a few days but its been back for the last few weeks. Its not excruciating, feels like a bit of tummy ache then goes. Not baby kicks either. Any ideas? I don't want to bother the midwife with it as its been investigated at 8 weeks but I am a bit worried because its right on my section scar.

Saw my consultant today, I'm 24 weeks so I guess I should be moving up to the 'big girl thread'. Strangely enough, like last time I don't have diabetes despite their obsession, just to test again before my 28 week scan and they will release me to the 'normal' consultant. I hate having to test
