Sorry the screaming upset you, he doesn't know what he's doing, try and take it in your stride as part of his recovery.
Yes, we were told not to even give it a thought, the medical team are used to it but I have not seen my OH like that before and to see someone you love like that is hard to watch but we were asked to leave immediately anyway so it was not for long I was told it is what happens0 -
It is hard - but you and he will get through it. When I was heavily dosed with morphine after an op I took a swing at a nurse, family would have been upset and horrified if they'd seen that.
Re the fit note, ask one of the treatment team what the procedure is, can they do one, and re the sick pay, talk to his boss, they will know what's what......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Just something practical that you may not know about, at our local hospital if you have someone in hospital they offer a reduced parking fee. Might be worth asking at hospital reception on the way in/out.
Just I know it soon adds up.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
When I did one of my first aid training courses, we were told that if someone was capable of screaming, then that person was breathing without aid - so look at it from that point of view, Victory - one thing less to worry about.
Take care of yourself, sweetheart x0 -
I'm thinking of you too Victory, wishing you and your family all the very best. xxx0

Yes it does, do I just ask the hospital for a fit note? When does it start from monday last until he goes back to work? Is it half pay? I don't know anything about it, never having been here before?
Two parts:
Fit note - you can self-certify (ie no note needed) for five days. Obviously this will be longer! Check with the boss - they may not actually need to receive the note until he goes back. Whenever they do need it, hospital can provide one.
Pay - all companies vary. Most give you full pay for a set amount of time, then put you on statutory sick pay which will be less. His boss can tell you what their company's policy is.0 -
ps Thinking about other comment above re going overdrawn... If you have any savings in an instant access account, might be worth moving a chunk into your current account, so you can forget about it for a little while and not worry too much about what goes out of it.0

I think you're doing fantastically well in an appalling situation Victory. I think the screaming thing would have cut me to the bone as well - but it isn't him; it's his mind and body reacting to events.
Wish I could send more than just forum hugs - but they are very sincere and heartfelt hugs from me and Gisele the dog nonetheless.
Much love to you. xx0 -
what about arranging dd's for the minimum payment on credit cards etc?
I know its not very mse to pay minimum payments but what with everything else going on, a minimum payment is better than a missed payment
Just a thought0
