That is a positive step. Thinking of you still. x

Thinking of you all and hoping that your husband will make a good recovery.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Hi Victory, you are doing brilliantly, your different people talking to different medics sounds like a good plan to get a bigger picture. Shock makes your brain like treacle but you are doing all the right things.

Sorry to hear about your DH. I just want to say that I have also been in the same position, CCU for a week, deteriorating condition. One day as I parked my car & walked up to the ward I thought I might have to make a life changing decision, turning off life support, instead there was a slight improvement. The improvement was tiny, but it continued day after day until after a month he was able to come home. He is sat next to me at the moment, snoring away after slightly too much vino & a long & tiring day.

I hope you get there too.

Thank you, I know we are still hoping and praying and waiting but there is an internal settling, no op now if it continues to settle, his mum can't settle and is not going anywhere unless he comes out of CCU, we are waiting, we know it will be long and 3 months was bandied about but then 6 weeks then 4 weeks and now back to 3 months it goes day by day, x rays, ultra sounds, blood transfusions, drips, morfin, lines in, oxygen, he is in the best place he could possibly be and his team have been fantastic.

We have been told he has been very aggresive and screaming, to be expected they say and they are used to it so it does not phase the medical team, I heard him scream and flail around and it nearly broke me, can't praise the medical team enough, they are so calm and used to it.

Of the admin list, I'd speak to DH's work first and find out how much sick pay he'll get. May be full normal pay for a good amount of time, but at least then you know how much will be coming in. The work will need a sick note which the hospital can provide (actually called a fit note these days).

Does his salary get paid into a joint account so you'll have the money?

Yes it does, do I just ask the hospital for a fit note? When does it start from monday last until he goes back to work? Is it half pay? I don't know anything about it, never having been here before?

Sorry the screaming upset you, he doesn't know what he's doing, try and take it in your stride as part of his recovery.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
