  • I seem to have got a bit lost. :o

If I enter a name of some establishment (eg. "Tesco"), it only lists such establishments which are close to my HA.

Have I accidentally set something (and, if so, how do I unset it?), or is this how it is meant to operate?

As far as I can remember on my Garmin it looks for establishments near where the device is. So if you are at home it will search near your home. You scroll down the list to see establishments further away but there will be a distance limit.
  • I've done a search for the Calais Ferry Terminal, so I can find my way back there, from Antwerp, but it's found two, with a mile difference from where I am now

How do I know which is the correct one, for cars returning to the UK?
  • When I connect it to my laptop, it says there's a 2.8GB map update.

What happens if the download is interrupted for any reason, eg. a loss of connection?

Does it knacker up the maps on the Sat Nav?

Carrefour for what, fuel, toilet, a meal?

Theres also Auchan which is another supermarket chain who also have petrol filling stations, theres also Super U as well for petrol but Carrefour or Auchan might be cheaper for food and petrol.

One thing I do remember is that we found some petrol stations that are next to the hypermarket like what we have here closed earlier than the ones over here would do.

We also had problems with using the pay at pump option at 24 hour petrol stations yet the accounts had money in them so take a second or third form or payment.

    Would cash be OK?

Your USB port may not have (enough) power to it?

On further investigation, I've learned that it does charge off a USB port, but it's only a trickle charge, so can take hours to show any change to the charge level.

The most convenient 24 hour 'manned' service station is the Total one in the Marcel Doret ZI (Zone Industrial) on the main road out of Calais.
