EON reps. Amy & Malc -what is happening to sort these issues??-how can it be so difficult to accept the electric readings and forward to the losing supplier?
I had a disquieting conversation with OVO yesterday as their CS rep suggested that, if our electricity account is still "live" towards the end of the month, they might attempt to collect another DD EVEN tho' they know we have switched!! They already have over £350 of our cash!!!
Edit -I may have to bite the bullet and cancel the DD for OVO -Don't want to, as past experience shows that this can cause issues with recovery of credit balances.0 -
Come on EON Reps ! Make a statement about this shambles and when it is going to be fixed .0
-
I had issues where it wouldn't accept the gas reading, but I emailed them and they rang back the next day to apologise and say it was sorted. And it was.
I have had to contact them twice and on both occasions they rang back the next day to sort it. So far so good ... so much better than the mistakes that npower used to make. Just hope that their call centre is as accommodating as npowers was if i ever have to ring them.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -

I wouldn't hold your breath if you call E.On. They kept me waiting on hold for over 30 minutes yesterday. No indication of where you are in the queue, and no explanation as to why they could not accept my opening meter readings when I did speak to someone. I note that no-one from E.On has responded to all of the problems raised in this forum.
I changed to them as part of a mass switch, but I'm beginning to regret it now. Their customer service is pathetic. They just do not seem to care.
Where are you E.On. We need to hear from you now!0 -
Seriously unimpressed; I gave my readings eight days ago, and they were acknowledged and a DD date set up. Only because I've had two separate texts (not emails) over the past couple of days looking for those readings, I came looking for a problem thread like this. I've duly resubmitted new readings and of course there was nothing on my account noting my previous submissions (despite the previous, "Thank You").
No wonder their reps are like snow off a dyke, they clearly are aware their ICT has fallen over and hope they can bag new customers and tidy up the mess later.0 -
I've had exactly the same issue with giving meter readings as the rest of you.
Today they came to read my meters in person so hopefully they'll have the correct figures from here on in even if I can't input my own readings further down the line0 -
Hello All
Really sorry about all the issues you're having when trying to give us opening meter readings online.
To be honest, there's very little I can add to Amy's earlier posts (posts 11, 18 and 22 above). Our IT guys are still working flat out to fix these problems. As of a few minutes ago, there's still no resolution or date for when this will be fixed.
Please don't think this is being taken lightly. These issues sit at the top of the company and are being treated with the highest priority. No excuses, it's our problem and we will fix it.
In the meantime, we've strengthened the team MSE Dan L mentions in post 10 above. For the time being, I'd ask anyone wanting to give us their opening meter readings to phone this team directly.
To confirm, the number is 0345 301 4905. This line is open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and between 8am and 6pm on Saturdays. Calls are charged at local rates or may be free if included in certain phone tariff packages.
Online, we've updated the wording on the meter reading rejection message to direct customers to this number.
I totally understand, this is far from satisfactory for those of you wanting to manage your accounts online. I'd rather be honest, though, and tell you the way it is than give false expectations.
Sorry again for this failure. Amy or myself will update this thread once we've more information.
Malc“Official Company Representative
I am an official company representative of E.ON. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
used the collective switch, activated eon account yesterday and entered my readings eventually.
but today have spam from Cobalt sky Team explicitly stating eon gave my details to them and did I want to enter a prize draw. Phoned eon up to ask why they are giving my details away and he said that because my switch was a collective switch it was nothing to do with them so tough **** baubles. when I asked what difference the collective switch made to my contract he just kept repeating the same line.
Thanks guys. I was a little reticent with this cheap energy club stuff, perhaps the deal DID include losing privacy to personal details, although I was not warned and cannot see any option to opt out.
so I have asked to cancel and guess I will pay the tenner for being a mug.
" we take your privacy very seriously" has lost its meaning due to being repeated ad infinitum.
will just leave this here if thats ok.

Utterly frustrated with Eon/Help-link Eon's website implies that their complaints process is simple BEWARE it is not! I am querying their installation process of boiler, but as my query concerns their subcontracted surveyors they do not appear to be able to help me, they refer me back to Help-link, the surveyors. I have been told that I have to pay 450 pounds for scaffolding as i am on third floor to fit a flue externally whereas the manufacturer states that the technology exists for it to be fitted internally.
Their surveyor aware but his company's policy is to use scaffolding. I still await to hear, but am so frustrated.0 -
I logged on to the Eon site again earlier today and saw that it didn't have an electricity reading, although I'd submitted one by message before. So I submitted another one, and the website rejected it, telling me the reading I gave wasn't one it expected. Hmm.0
