Switching to E.ON.
I tried to enter my meter readings this morning as this is the day I am due to transfer. Gas took ok but now showing the reading as on 17th December!! Electricity not showing up at all. My dates of transfer also altered. Electricity was originally the 3rd, now 10th. - Maybe.
Not impressed.0 -
Never received any emails or texts to say that the opening readings were due by so and so date.
Had to login to the account regularly to find that out on my own.
Electricity - was due to switch on 03-Dec but I couldn't give any readings until 10-Dec (today). When I say give, I mean give by phone. Never was able to input the reading online, so decided to call today.
Gas - Online account says switch due on 10-Dec and reading required by today. Couldn't put in reading online, as stated above, so called Eon but the lady on the phone said the switch will happen on 12-Dec and not today.
Glad I sent in my meter readings to the current supplier, EDF, online today - just to avoid any misunderstandings on a later date. EDF's online system is flawless, as per my own experience of >4 years.
E.On .... well, get the IT systems sorted! You want customers to manage their accounts online .... but your IT system is in shambles!!0 -
Now holding for 10 minutes to speak to someone at E.ON Got email to input electricity and did so. Now they say it isn't in line with what they were expecting and will not use it.
NOT GOOD.
Gave up after 15 minutes and emailed. They "will try hard to get back within 5 working days but it may take longer" Seriously not impressed now.0 -
Just tried to submit startup meter readings to E.On. 3 emails received so far requesting readings for switchover of todays date. Spent well over 30 mins on hold by phone. Tried several numbers. Eventually answered and told the switchover will now be 18th December, and to submit readings on that day. What a waste of time and effort, and a poor start to a new account with E.On. So much for customer service.0

Interesting.
I got the email to submit my opening readings by 5th Dec which i did.
I just phoned them to ask when or if they have already sent those readings to N-Power to allow them to finalise my account.
Strange the operator said the gas reading has been sent to N-Power but we dont have an electricity reading. I pointed out it was submitted at the same time. He then mysteriously found it (Correct read) and said he was sending it on. My reasoning for all of this was purely to ensure N-Power have no ground to delay issueing a final (Large credit) statement.
Just logged on to eon to have a look and lo and behold my elec reading is not showing.
Rather odd.
I am apparently fully set up and n-power did confirm having closed the account.
Think i will be calling them again in 24 hours.0 -

...EXACTLY the same situation as me:(0 -
To add to input from previous posters:
Switching from EDF to EON.
Tried entering first meter readings on EON website using the two routes possible, no acknowledgements, an error message using one of the two routes.
Sent emails via form submissions, asking questions. EON are "working hard" to reply within 5 working days but it may take even longer, as they are busy, you see.
One of the questions was where's the on line method for the prompt response to customer queries which some would assert is necessary for EON to be regarded as having an adequate customer service?
On the meter reading deadline day, I resorted to cartel. 03453014905. Readings accepted, they took the opportunity to ask me a raft of questions about meter serial numbers, children, state of my health.
So I raised the question of the call cost rate - the responder told me it's free from a BT landline (?)
I am having to go to alert status re micromanaging EON - direct debit set-up and maintenance, billing accuracy, future meter readings, the next supplier switch etc.
Addendum - submitted same meter readings as given to EON, to EDF, as closing readings on last day of account, to try to avoid any delay in EDF handing back the large credit they have built up.0 -
I called Npower to give the final readings last Wed, as they requested they need both to finalize the bill. I simply did through a phone call as I am in credit with them. They said they are aware I am switching to EON and that is why they needed the reading. EON hasn't made any requests for reading yet. My switching dates seems to change all the time, so I left it to them to sort it out. It fluctuates by about 3 to 4 weeks!!! However I called EON right after calling Npower with the readings. The EON customer rep said he will take note of the readings anyway since I am on the phone. I hope all the regulations in place will ensure we are not cut off the elec and gas supply if they mess it up!SPC 08 - #452 - £415
SPC 09 - #452 - £2980 -
Many appear to be having the same problems with E.On. It's time someone from E.On explained what is going wrong and sorted this out as a matter of urgency. There must be many others not on the MSE forum who are having the same difficulty. Come on E.On, where are you?0

Received an email today, asking for first readings TODAY!
Went outside in the cold, wet, and dark to get readings.
Tried to input them online. Gas couldn't be input. Electricity was outside expected reading (it wasn't!)
Spent ages on phone before I gave up.
Not a good start!0
