Switch to EON -CEC deal

My switch to EON seems to almost be complete -HOWEVER, the EON website is asking for meter reads by 4th December.......but after reading the meters this morning it won't let me input anything yet!Anyone actually completed the switch in?

    Sorry you’re having problems trying to enter your start readings online.

    I would try again today and if you’re having the same problem, might be best if you give us a call.

    You’ll be able to find our number on the website.

    We’ll be able to enter them for you and let me know why you couldn’t enter them online.

    You should be able to enter your reads online going forward.

    Yes, the same problem! Received an email this morning saying my reading needed to be given by the 3rd December. Logged on to my online account, but it says I can't give readings.

    I phoned E.on before coming here and am waiting for a callback.

    Having received confirmation of my DD payment amount on the 11th November I emailed asking them to amend, as I know it wasn't high enough. No reply. However, on the 17th I did receive an email advising me I could save a further £35 a year if I agreed to pay by DD!

    Agent unable to help without referring as there seem to be a number of anomalies on my account.

    Frustrated and not impressed so far.

    I'm having the same problem(except I need to give readings by 3rd Dec), currently on hold to speak with Eon, 20 minutes and counting.......
    BTW my DD is due to come out on 4th December and not had a letter yet to confirm and no DD set up with our bank so I'll need to check that too :cool:

    I was on hold for ages as well, and then remembered thee CEC email, and used the telephone number that gave 0345 301 4905, it was answered within a few rings.

    The agent I got was polite and friendly, just unable to help at this stage.
  • Well, after about 30 minutes I have come away feeling more confident with Eon. I was passed through to the switching dept, who took the meter readings and the meter numbers and confirmed the dd is not set to come out until January, bit of a bonus. All is set for electric to go live on 3rd December, with gas on the 8th :money:

  • I received the email asking for meter readings but when I tried to log in to give the readings I needed my account number, which wasn't in the email. Stalemate! Feeling the same rising tide of frustration that led me to switch in the first place!

    I've been told to input it by 3rd December, but I've also got a message stating "We're sorry. We cannot currently accept readings for these meters."

    I've now had an email asking for the readings ...but when I tried it still won't accept the gas reading altho' it apparently will accept the eleccy one. Decided to leave it til 4th December - if I can't input both then , I might ring.
    Interestingly OVO, who I'm currently with, are showing nothing on their web page to suggest that I'm switching!! altho' I have had "sorry you are leaving us" type communications via email.

    Hi all - I'm sorry to hear that you're having some problems submitting meter readings online to Eon. We've passed on the details of your issues and asked that it looks into this to ensure that there isn't a wider system glitch.

    In the meantime you should be able to submit the readings via the phone - 0345 301 4905.

    There are problems entering start reads online, our IT team are looking in to it.

    We haven’t got a time scale just yet, but as soon as we do I’ll let you’ll know.
