Switch to EON -CEC deal

I've been asked to submit my readings but when I try to do so I get an error. The Android app says my account is still being set up so I cannot login, similar via the web I used to be able to log in but no longer.
This is a bit of a shambles in my view and if it's not sorted soon I'm going to switch away out of principle. If Eon can't even get me on board as a new customer I dread to think what things would be like should I face a problem with them downstream.0 -
I switched end of last week - EON account is still not operational and no initial leccy reading showing. Tried to get some of my large credit balance back from OVO in advance of closing bill -but the request failed as it triggered a request for meter readings! -not advisable when I'm no longer their customer!!0

Interesting with OVO too. My fix with them ends next May, when by my calculation I'll be very close to zero balance, better make sure I owe them money if/when I leave!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Not like E.On to mess things up, maybe they've been overwhelmed.

.................many other threads have indicated that EON weren't adequately prepared for the inflow of customers.....as to OVO, I suspect I'm going to have to work to get my near £300 credit back (and that's after the final bill which I've manually calculated!!:()
Suggest you reduce your DD in March to the lowest figure the system will allow ,so that you end up with a debit balance -thats what I did with EDF last year so that I owed them £70 on switching!!:)0 -
Please could one of the Eon representatives contact me by PM. As this switch is turning into a complete nightmare for me. The telephone call eon promised me last Friday has not been received, and it's proving to be impossible to contact them in my breaks from work.
I'm not happy, my fixed rate with SSE expired last week so I am now on an expensive standard tariff. I need an update today, or I will be looking else where.0 -
@shorty31 -both of the regular EON reps. have been on today ...but neither have posted anything this week! Suspect they are keeping their heads down because this CEC switch has been far too successful!!0

Yes, I noticed that, really unhappy with this whole situation. I have managed to get through to E-on, who still insist they took my supply on from the 3rd December. However, my online account still tells me I can't log on as I have no account. It's still not possible for them to set up a Direct Debit , but they have no idea why. Previous supplier still says I am with them on a standard tariff. What an absolute mess!
Now, I can accept that they are buried under a lot of work and the system isn't coping, I just want more than verbal confirmation that I am on the tariff I signed up to.0 -
i switched to eon through this site as moving had tenancy at new address since 27th oct but am awaiting funds to move in. keep getting bills to the occupier for old tenant. rang eon about this they say i have not been logged as a customer yet? but i applied 4 weeks ago. my estimated bills just for me are 170.00 for gas 78.00 electric from 27th oct to present yet have not even moved in yet? how do i find out if this switch even in process if eon have not got me down as a customer?0

I too cant submit my electricity meter reading on the Eon web site have submitted the gas meter reading with no problem. I have been with EDF for years and they are much more responsive but more expensive. This Eon web site meter reading problem makes me think I should cancel the switch very disappointed they cant sort out their IT systems. Also lack of contact telephone number suggests they don't want customers to ring them, preferring people use facebook is a joke0

Today I've had a final statement from OVO -but it only covers gas -altho' they know I'm switching both as the statement includes the leaving penalty for both!!- I can't get any of my £350+ credit back either -because thy haven't finalised the leccy.
My leccy reading still does not show on my online EON account either -even tho' I've been assured twice that its showing on their internal system -suspect it hasn't been sent thru to OVO yet.
I can see this causing grief soon as I suspect that OVO will try to take another DD if the account isn't finalised.0
