You're doing really well with the money-making, Emz:j
I was quite sorry Federer lost today as I hate Wawrinka:eek:
Just off to Morrison's now, they open at 7, so I can be back in good time to get all the washing washed and on the line so I can see all the tennis later;). At last, I get to see Ferrer play:j:j
I hope it's a great match (Ferrer and Murray I mean, who cares about the other two?:rotfl:) and it has all the signs of being a long one. I'm fully expecting OH moaning that his dinner is late today:(:(. Murray has never beaten Ferrer on clay but he seems so much surer on it this year that it could go either way. I suspect whoever wins this one will be mighty tired for the semi-final:eek:
I'm sorry your eye is taking so long to get better, Emz.
Have a good money-making day and enjoy whatever you get to see of the tennis:beer:0 -
Hi CBC
I'm not a big fan of Wawrinka either (he's very shifty if you ask me), but I have never liked Federer, so always love it when he loses.
I'm not going to get to see any of the tennis, but maybe that's a good thing (for my blood pressure anyway). I'll be able to check on the score during my break. I hope whoever wins it (Murray or Ferrer) goes on to win the whole thing. If anyone deserves to win a grand slam in his career, it's Ferrer.
I hope you enjoy the match- tell your OH to make his own dinner!!

Sorry you won't get to see the match 'live', Emz, but I know exactly what you mean about the blood pressure:eek:.
If Ferrer wins today I doubt he'll have enough left in the tank to beat Nadal or Djokovic at the moment. He has beaten them before, it's not impossible, but at 33 he tends to burn himself out before the very last stages of a tournament:(. Would hate to see him get to the final and then get slaughtered.
Strangely, out of all the top men players, I don't think he has ever beaten Federer on any surface:(. Good job he's out of the way then;)
And as for OH getting his own dinner, oh nooooooo:eek:. Banging and crashing, smell of burning, kitchen full of smoke, much cursing all more than likely. Easier and quicker for me to nip into the kitchen during breaks and rustle something up. He hates salad but will probably be getting it tonight;), I'll just cook a few new potatoes and warm up a quiche or something to go with his to make him feel he's getting a real meal:rotfl:0 -
Evening
Very quick post as I've just done a 9 hour shift.
CBC - sorry that Ferrer lost. I really didn't think Murray was going to beat him today. I'm glad that Andy has reached the same stage he did last year though, so he won't be losing any points at least. He's a great player, but I can't see anyone beating Djokovic at the moment.
£30.85 overtime earned today. Apparently there's no overtime next week, so might as well make the most of it whilst it's here.

Feeling sad that the only time I got to see Ferrer play he lost:(. Oh well, congratulations to Murray who seems to have got the hang of clay now:beer:. I'll obviously be rooting for him on Friday (won't get to see it though as been asked to do some emergency delivery work for the next few days). I agree with you about the form Djokovic is in. To beat Nadal in straight sets was unbelievable. At least Ferrer managed a set off Murray, plus took another to a tie-breaker;). He seems to be having problems with his serve, the commentator said it's been a major problem all season (not that I'd know, never getting the chance to see any of his matches:mad:).
The work I'm doing is a mixed blessing. Brilliant to be earning some money (not much but every little helps) but a heatwave is forecast and I have problems with the sun. Plus, I'll miss the tennis finals. Could be worse, I can't stand Serena (such a prima donna:eek:) and if Andy doesn't make it I'm not a fan of any of the men left in it.
I'm sorry your overtime is about to dry up. Maybe a rest will do you good:). You've been working so hard lately and what with your cough earlier and now your eye problem it's a good opportunity to have some 'you' time:beer:.0 -
Hi CBC
Good news about the extra money from the delivery work. I hope you manage to stay cool whilst doing it.
At least you know Wimbledon is just around the corner and they televise pretty much every match because of the red button. I'm off Friday, so will get to see the Murray match, although I don't hold much hope. I reckon he can take a set off Djokovic though.

Hmm, I've just agreed to work extra Mon/Tues next week - so don't know why I was told there was no overtime. That's an extra £38.
Hospital went okay. Apparently my eye is healing, even though it doesn't feel any better to me. I've got to continue with the drops every 2 hours until Sunday and then go down to 6 times a day. Going back to the hospital Monday morning.

Just popping in to say  and trying to catch up on some of the posts on the threads I subscribe to. Not been online much for the past week. Taking ages to read through some of them, still only skimmed through, but am a bit worried you haven't posted for so long on yours

Are you OK, Emz? It seems strange that you haven't posted for so long (10 days actually)
Am still plodding on with my temporary job. Supposed to be for about 10 days altogether so I'm nearing the end now. It's been hard graft this time mainly because of the heat so I'm very glad that we've had some rain this weekend:j
