CBC, I'm so pleased your cat has come home :D. I have been thinking of you and whether you found him or not.

When a pet dies, that is awful and upsetting, but I think it's even worse when one goes missing, as you just don't know what has happened and are so worried all the time.

I expect you have been spoiling him rotten and won't let him out of your sight!!

Enjoy Wimbledon and a decent night's sleep!!

My degu died :(. She kept having seizures and the vet said she could have had a brain tumour that caused her to incur her injury. She said it was the kindest thing to do to put her to sleep. I had a little cry yesterday and have been spoiling the other two rotten.

The bill only came to £46, which I thought was pretty good. They didn't add any fees to it and just charged me for the stuff they used on her.

To top it off, OH's parents are here for two nights. They arrived yesterday evening and are going tomorrow. So far, OH and I have paid for breakfast (£22) and we've just ordered a pizza (£20) which we also paid for. They bought a Chinese (£15) last night.

    So sorry Emz. X

My eye is playing up again :(. Really hope it's not the same problem, but think it might be. There's not a lot I can do about it tomorrow, so will see what it's like on Thursday and take myself off to the doctor if it's not feeling better.

I've just checked out the order of play for tomorrow and am pretty pleased we'll get to see a British player. Should be a good atmosphere.

  • That's awful news about your eye, Emz, after going through such a rotten time with it before. Fingers crossed that it's nothing serious this time:)

I was gobsmacked to discover Ferrer had withdrawn from Wimbledon before it even started:eek:. I was sure his first round match would be televised as he was supposed to be playing a British player. Didn't realise he wasn't playing until I searched today's order of play and saw a total stranger playing James Ward instead:mad:.
  • I hope you've recovered from your day at Wimbledon in all that heat and that you had a fantastic time and saw some really exciting matches:j. I'm green with envy actually:o

    Hi everyone

CBC - thank you, we had a great day on Wednesday. It was very hot. Seeing the Heather Watson match was the highlight for me. It was a great atmosphere and lovely to see her win. Such a shame she couldn't beat Serena today :( - she played so well and deserved to win if you ask me (Serena was doing my head in with her constant screaming after each point). We also saw Raonic and Wawrinka.

Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. We have been without internet since Wednesday morning and it has only just come back on today.

I went to the hospital this morning for my eye. It was a different hospital to the one I went to before, and basically I was told by the original hospital to put my contacts back in before I should, hence the re-occurrence. Thankfully, it's nowhere near as bad as the first time round, but I've got to put drops in for a week and then leave my contacts out for 2 weeks after that.

I received this email this morning:

    Good Morning Emily,

We are pleased to advise you that you have been selected as the lucky winner of the Kona competition, A two night trip for two to the Alps, including hotel, flights and bike rental.

We will forward your details to Kona, they will be in contact to confirm details.

    Congratulations!

My OH is really pleased and it will be nice to have a break away for free.

Think I might start entering competitions again ;)

What a lovely prize, Emz:j. Well done. It will be just what you need to recharge your batteries after the last few months. I used to love winning short breaks (the promoters usually treat winners like royalty:T) but sadly for various health reasons of OH's we can't venture far from home nowadays. I keep seeing brilliant holiday comps advertised but never enter for obvious reasons and usually the prize isn't transferrable so I can't even try to win for somebody else:(

I hope your eye gets better soon now you know what the problem is that slowed it down before.

I love Heather Watson (can't stand Serena whoever she's playing:() and agree with you that she really deserved to win yesterday. A star of the future definitely:T

Just off to drive OH to hospital for an exploratory procedure. Never had to go on a Saturday before but maybe the car park won't be so full today. He may have to stay in overnight, although doesn't usually. I'm expecting a few hours hanging around but at least it's not baking hot today and my inconvenience is nothing compared to what he'll have to go through.
