You can leave if u notify them within 30 days? Because they increased the price.0

From receiving the letter. I think there is a date at the bottom of the letter. 31 Jan rings a bell.

I am supposedly 'locked' in a contract until mid 2015, however I rang the cancellation department and quoted this letter, and without wasting a breath, she offered to waive the price increase. I hadn't even mentioned I wanted to cancel at that point!
I guess I should ring them up myself, but I've already got some discount and paid my line rental. :doh:0 -
I've just received a letter about a £4.50pm increase, only been with VM for 3 months.
Surely threatening to cancel does not apply to those 'in contract', as you can't leave?
Don't forget you can carve up the contract if you like. For us SKY TV and the rest with VM works out the cheapestLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
So, do I have this right.. if you're in contract with VM, but they force a price increase on you, this then gives you the right to negotiate with them as if you out of contract?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

As an update, I was paying £64.59 for Premier Collection including XL TV, 100mb Broadband and L Phone. I also have Evening and Weekend calls and a second HD box.
I called Bills and Accounts just to confirm my price increase (£4.89) as I had lost the letter.
I mentioned that it was a lot and without any fighting on my side, she said she would take off £6 a month making it £63.43 per month and increase my broadband to 150mb.
I still want to get my bill down more so I said no thanks (they usually restart the contract) HOWEVER she said that the contract will not restart with this amendment so I could take the discount and still review things.

I called them today.
I'm paying £20 (Feb Rise to £24)
Basic Weekend Calls .Line Rental (paid in advance)
M+ TV
50MB Broadband.
Best they could do was £16 off for remaining 4 months of my 12 month deal negotiated last year reverting back to £20. Then £24 from June.
I asked if they could do a new deal for the leaflet that they posted through my door and they wouldn't. Definite change in attitude to when I called last year.
Have put in notice to cancel and will see if they call me back.0
