Nonsense, BMW's are all for show, bling and flash. Its the name/status you are paying for nothing else. There is a reason why they brake down all the time and thats because they are poorly engineered. New models coming out all the time, just so the customers can show off their latest 'bling' mobile and how rich they are.

Toyotas are much more reliable and better engineered. As far as speed is concerned, my 1.6 litre Corolla can easily keep up with BMWs when giving it the beans. In fact I remember a few weeks ago a 2011 3 series tried overtaking me on an A road (it said 335i on the back) and to be honest he barely did. My Toyota was barely behind and he was flooring his. If you want a fast car get a proper sports car like the MX-5 or Ford Fiesta ST. Less than half the price of a BMW and as quick if not quicker, including these "m" cars, ones with 4 silly exhausts at the back, looks like a chavs car

Mazda mx 5 and ST Fiesta are as quick if not quicker than the M5?

The only beans you give are the magic ones you traded the cow for.

Brother has a 335i, is pretty quick to be fair - as a 3.0 turbo with 300bhp would be.

4 exhausts a chavs car - the E39 M5 is anything but, it's a grown ups car, and a timeless classic.

Although it cost more to fill with petrol than your Corolla is worth, that is a downside I must admit.

My M5 did 165mph in 5th gear, expect even 4th gear would see them off top end at 130+....
    Muppet.

A 530d will be near that speed flat out. So a diesel reps car will !!!! on darkmatters recommendations for sports cars.

The MX 5 is a good jap remake of the traditional sports car but being front wheel drive, five seats and a hatch back the Fiesta is not a sports car.

Why is this turning into a willy waving contest? There are many cars about to offer choice to fit a budget and desire, I'm sure even luxury cars have problems during their warranty period.

I went from an M5 to a 180k p plate a4 tdi with a turbo that switched off at 68mph, now have a green Passat.

Nah you'd need the 3.0 triple turbo diesel for that against a 98 corolla with carbon fibre air intake.

Carbon fibre is reduced weight, innit. ;)

    dont feed darkmatter

you actually go through the time and effort to edit that image? Maybe people who know about cars think I'm talking rubbish, but there are a lot of people who agree with my views and think BMW are only a status thing
