Can I reject this car?

  • Wasn't it BMW and Range Rovers where you could reprogram a key and drive off without the owner knowing?

And audi and merc. Basically anything with keyless but I did notice on watchdog that they were leaving the car unlocked so the guy could get in and reprogram his fob, basics, lock the car!!!

Typical, another BMW with poor build quality and reliability, charging a premium for its 'life style image' and badge. Why people purchase these rubbish cars is beyond me

I had an E36 M3 for 3 years, no issues, and an E39 M5 for 2 years, again no issues.
The M3 revved to 7700, and went from 107k to 147k without using one drop of oil.
Brother's E46 330d that was remapped 4 years ago and goes like stink, no issues.
    Rubbish cars...
If you drove one you'd realise why people buy them.
    I did.

I would only change it if it fails the MOT or starts squeeking etc. Brakes on my '98 Corolla lasts 30k-40k. Tyres too last atleast 30k miles. Since ownership (bought in 2001 with 30k mile) and now on 223k I've spent around £3.5k on 1 clutch change, 3 timing belts, 5 sets of tyres, brake dics/pads, oil changes and filters, lamda sensor including other small niggles like bulbs etc since 2001. Annual road tax is £145, insurance is £260 and it returns 45mpg on a run ad 35mpg around town. Preventative maintenance is the key to longativity and saving money. My car still goes perfectly and is good for at least another 100k.

    Not bad in my books.

At least the Yaris with no back brakes, the imaginary Lexus, the non existent M3 and the A3 with more miles than the Star Ship Enterprise were amusing.

He's just trying to gain acceptance. He thought everyone would be impressed with the pretend Lexus and M3 but 1) nobody was impressed 2) he was caught lying red handed a few times.

He's trying a different tack now. Pick a really money saving car (possibly even what he had all along) and spend his time bad mouthing anything with a BMW badge in as many threads as possible.

I'm just not really sure why :D

Nonsense, BMW's are all for show, bling and flash. Its the name/status you are paying for nothing else. There is a reason why they brake down all the time and thats because they are poorly engineered. New models coming out all the time, just so the customers can show off their latest 'bling' mobile and how rich they are.

Toyotas are much more reliable and better engineered. As far as speed is concerned, my 1.6 litre Corolla can easily keep up with BMWs when giving it the beans. In fact I remember a few weeks ago a 2011 3 series tried overtaking me on an A road (it said 335i on the back) and to be honest he barely did. My Toyota was barely behind and he was flooring his. If you want a fast car get a proper sports car like the MX-5 or Ford Fiesta ST. Less than half the price of a BMW and as quick if not quicker, including these "m" cars, ones with 4 silly exhausts at the back, looks like a chavs car
