Phone up the switchboard and ask for the chief exec office. When they ask why tell them someone is dealing with a concern for you as no-one in customer relations can help you. Put your case to them. I did this and after a few calls and a fax someone in chief exec RBS credited my acct personally and apologised to me for the wait and the service I'd received. Good luck. Be really pleasant but firm as you get further. ;)

Just checked again today and the money has now gone in, so it may happen at any time during the day.

Are these settlement offers or won FO / Court case claims?

Has anyone had any experience of NatWest applying to set aside their court case judgement?

  • Hi

We received all of our statements for the last 6 yrs from Halifax a week or 2 ago - along with a letter about their plan to hold off dealing with anymore claims until the OFT decision.

However, we req these details while in our overdraft (before reading Martin's advice:o ) and they v quickly froze both our accounts (when one was still in credit!). We've since paid off the overdraft (opened new accounts with other bank and moved all our dd's) and left accounts open thinking that we'd need to if we want to reclaim. However, they are still trying to apply more charges for part month's overdrawn and add interest to those extra charges - despite the fact that we cleared the outstanding overdraft and took the balance to a few pounds in credit with their agreement.

OH is refusing to pay these latest charges outright but the Hfax are ringing us daily. V annoying. Would it make any difference if we closed the account? Could we still reclaim those old charges should the OFT case go well?

    Help!
