  • You need to carry on and send off the next letter to the bank saying you will take court action and give them 14 days as per Martin's article. If you have a lot of early charges you do need to start the court action or these early charges will be time barred if you wait until the test case is over.

  • Hi there
My husband and I are trying to claim charges from Nat West (approx £6,000 in total)
I have had an offer on my sole account for £2500 but not on our joint account which I asked for at the same time. My husband has had a letter to say that his is on hold until the 'court case' is settled and I have had a letter saying that my offer still stands.
Do I accept this and hope that they will then offer for the joint account and my husbands too or wait? Surely I can push them on to the next stage on the grounds that they have offered on one account so should finish their offers. Incidentally I was told that a letter was coming on the joint account offer but they have since back peddled on this. They have said that the court case will be resolved in two weeks but Martin says more like the new year!!
Also does anyone have a direct number to ring? I am having problems finding the chief execs number!
    thanks so much

Hi everybody, today i recieved a a letter from natwests solictors, stating they were filing a defence claim as they didnt have certain account no's and amounts for such a claim against their clients.i find this rather strange, as i believe all claims were on hold due to OFT getting involved. can anyone please advise what might be happening, are they just following procedures/guidleines?I have followed martins templates to the book and sent letters recorded, theirfore they should have all relevant info they requireAny thoughts and as any one else had the same request after OFT got involvedregards

this is normal and yes they like us are still following procedures, as is the case with solicitors (defendants) they usually do claim they had no record of your claim as the banks dont supply them with the info.

  • You would be best to accept the offer you have on the table for the one account and attempt to negotiate with the others separately. You'll find the phone numbers you need in this thread.

I got a letter from them yesterday that was really long explaining that all claims were now on hold due to the court case thing, and they can't do anything until after it has all finished.

me too, can anyone fill us in with this?

Is it a fob off? shall i send an other letter?
