I've followed the process through to the letter threatening Court action. Natwest now say it will take 6-7 weeks to respond to my claim. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what did you do and what was the outcome?
I have never known a bank to take anywhere near 8 weeks to take a charge off me. When it suits them they can be very quick in acting.
By the way, I got a cheque today for a small sum, but nice none the less (£400 ish), two weeks after filing my claim on Moneyclaim Online. Don't be messed about mateGood luck!

This seems to be taking ages with Nat West for me, I sent the original letter requesting the statments on 5th April, have only just got them and will be posting the claim for £1699.13 = £251.13 charges, total 1950.13 tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed although i have read on a couple of occasions that there is little luck in trying toi recalim interest with NW.
Is it worth me continuing on this line or should i start again without trying for the interest? Are you ready for this
SECURED LOANS £55,000
UNSECURED LOANS £25,000
CREDIT CARDS £11,000
 TOTAL £91,000.00:eek:
DFD OCT 2018  (Man, that feels like forever)
Then of course there is the £198,000 mortgage which is going to cost me closer to £1/2 million before i pay it off. Got to make an effort to overpay when things are straighter.0 -
Just a quick question so late into my claim. I am able to claim back interest charges from unauthorized overdraft or not?0

Hi All
I received a letter from natwest saying that they will send my charges for the last 6 years as soon as they can.
A couple of days later I received statements for march 01 to Sept 02 and nothing more.
Does anyone know if they send then bit by bit or whether I should send them a letter requesting the rest.
What i dont want to happen is the charges to get out of date sitting around waiting.
Please let me know.0 -

Theres a thread on here dedicated to natwest you will find that more useful in answering some of your queries, it has contact numbers to ring and an email address to check your progress of your claim. If you have checked your recorded delivery receipt and its been delivered to them it should be fine they just probably havent got round to looking at your letter yet.
If this was your first letter sent and you havent received anything back dont worry they are telling everyone that it takes approx 8 weeks to deal with your claim its along process. I waited over 10 weeks in total.
I didnt receive any acknowledgement from natwest at all but carried on with letters as per advice on this board and the steps Martin has given.LBM - April 2007Claimed back my bank charges from Natwest - £1196Halifax Credit Card Claiming £467.35 Rec £467.35!/Capital One Card Claiming - £523.92/Barclaycard Claiming - £403.58 Rec £403.58/MBNA Claiming - £584.37 Rec£584.37Proud to be dealing with my debtsUpdate: 2009 - Currently claiming £1900 from Natwest0 -

They will basically have started with the 8 weeks to investigate from when they got your letter, you wont get a reply to it as I didnt either, first thing you will get is an offer for your charges without interest. It may be worth while giving them a ring to see where they are up to with it. I bank with Natwest & didnt hear a peep from them until I started court proceedings, Im now well on my way to a hearing..

Hi
thinking of reclaiming my bank charges from the natwest only concern I have is that I have a large overdraft, if I am successful in reclaiming any charges. Will the natwest close my account down and expect the full amount of the overdraft paid to them?0 -
Can anyone help.... after learning ive had over £7000 taken off me in the last 6 years ive decided to try and re claim them off Natwest. I started with the usual letter asking for them back, after 4 weeks i got the you will hear off us again within another 8 with would take that up until the end of July. i then took advice of another entry on this site saying dont wait and send them another letter saying i never received a good enough response and if i never heard anything concrete within another 7 days i would start Court proceedings .... Now im getting nervous about the whole court thing... anyone help at all... Please.0
