If you read back through the posts you'll find that NatWest aren't prone to closing accounts. Any monies reclaimed will be paid into your account and this will reduce your overdraft so that can only be good!0

Oh thank you - thank you - thank you.
As great as this site is I can never personally find my way around it.0 -
I have never claimed but i would say that if you let the bank determine the timescales, you let them continue to walk over you. Yes they will pay out charges no interest. So, they take your interest and give you charges back. They make you wait 8 weeks, then a few more for payment and then they have had more of your money and gained interest on it. Sue em i tell ya sue em after the LBA. However, that would be me. I merely see what the charges have done to people. This is YOUR claim so YOUR choice. JMHO0

Folks
Hi first post this so be patient.
I followed all instructions from this amazing site asking for a copy of my last 6 years statements.
I have sent my letter listing all the unfair charges to my bank and I have in retun recieved a letter from them saying that they will take 6-8 weeks to deal with my request?
What should I now do be patient or write them another letter?
Thanks.

Depends on whether you want to go to the Financial Ombudsman - then you have to wait 8 weeks first, or whether you want to take the court route - then it's another letter to the bank giving them 14 days, then file a court claim. It's all in Martin's article.Reclaimed thanks to this site:
£175 Abbey Mortgage Repayment Fee, £170.03 Capital One Bank Charges £418.07 Lloyds TSB Bank Charges, £2,671.55 Mis-sold Endowment Policy, all for OH0 -
It is up to you of course but if you read back through the later posts on this thread NatWest will come up with an offer if you give them the 8 weeks. They are part of the RBS group and deal with the reclaims in date order and if you phone they will let you know what stage your claim is at.0
