Further from me threatening Lloyds with the courts to claim back my £2600 reminding them of the fact that they broke promises to me to get their Customer Support Unit to contact me to discuss whether my case was a hardship one or not, and Ive just received a reply (a month later!!)

They basically say that they acknowledge their suport unit failed to contact me but my case will be dealt with when the ongoing court case is finished....

I'm not happy at all about this, surely they cant promise something only to shirk on it and then fob me off with more of their empty promises, my phone hasnt rang and ve had no post from them......

Do I have a right to push or it to be sorted immediately as I'm currently in DMP as I cant afford to pay all of my debts, I'm struggling to meet my DMP payments (I supplied them with all my DMP details to check it out)...the FSA waiver says that cases such as this should be dealt with straight away doesn't it?? I need to know what I can do cos I'm getting angrier and angrier at Lloys for the way they're behaving with a loyal customer of over 10 years. ....

    Cheers all n happy bank-bustin' :T

i ahve had exactly the same sort of letter and they was meant to get in touch with me yesterday and i know its only been a day but have not had a letter or anything or a phone call. When i rang them to ask earlier on in the week how they would be able to help me they just said that if i was in difficulty with them they would try and put me onto a payment plan withthere collections service but i have already done this and after starting this is in december it finishes in two weeks. yippeee

Anyway they said that as i was already getting help from them and it was nearly finished there was nothing that they would actually be doing for me and that even as a hardship/ financial difficulty case i would not get my money and they also said that they havent paid anyone money at all this year

hi everyone got a letter from ombudsman yesterday after contacting them in nov 07 about hard ship case as ltsb were refusing to pay anything . In the letter it says lloyds have told them that i had received a partial payment of charges and that they have done all they should while the waiver is in place,I have never had one penny back in charges therefore lloyds are lying to ombudsman should i get in touch with ombudsman and inform them of this or ring lloyds and see what they have to say. Advice appreciated thanks and also has this happened to anyone else.

    Hiya,

I am claiming bank charges with 3 banks but in particular Lloyds TSB. I mentioned in a post before that i had a letter from them from their Customer Recovery Centre in ANDOVER saying that they had deduced that i was in financial difficulty and that unlike other cases the suspension did not apply to mine. They also said that their Customer Support Unit would be in touch within 1 week however this never happend. I left it two weeks and today finally rang them and complained about no respnse from them. I was passed from pillar to post had to ring the Recovery Centre who said i need to speak to Collections who in turn put me through to Customer Support Unit who said i need to speak to Recovery again who then said i needed to speak to phne banking. At this point i got really angry and said that if something was not sorted by 5pm i would be taking them to court as i am a financial difficulty case my claim should be getting something done about it. They gave me the number to the Financial Ombudsman and told me to give them a ring which i have done. They have said that my case is something they can definately help with and are sending me out a complaint form and in turn i have to send them all my letters n replys along with the form. I am just wondering if anyone else has had to do this and if so what was the outcome? I understand that the charges are my fault and people have been waiting for their claim lnger then i have bu as the Ombudsman said Hardship cases should be treat with Sympathy and of course this sint the case with Lloyds TSB.

    Thank you

I have been with Lloyds TSB all 34 years of my life. My account has been dormant and I miscalculated the amount in it by 55p back in Feb. I am about to be charged £445.16 for a 55p mistake. I have moved address 4 times in the last year (work / personal reasons) and the last move I stupidly forgot to mention to Lloyds TSB. They sent the letters to my old flat and so I never saw them. The first I knew of it was Collections trying to contact me on my mobile last thursday. As I don't use the account for very much at all, I wasn't able to answer all the security questions. The smarmy little man from the call centre advised I get myself down to a branch asap, which I did in Bristol. Even the branch staff were embarrassed when they realised the situation but ever since then I've been sent on the run around. I was advised to phone my branch (they can do nothing). I was advised to phone a number by the Financial Ombusman for complaints at lloyds. The girl I spoke to said they should be able to help me and that her supervisor would ring back today. She never did and when I phoned up late in the afternoon the person I got through to claimed she couldnt' see anything on the system blah blah same old story. My only hope is that the sist still does not apply in Scotland and I can pursue through the courts there (I signed up under scottish law and my branch is in scotland). I cannot see how they can claim that it has cost them 445.16 to date to administer a 55 PENCE mistake made in Feb. I had hoped that lloyds would apply a modicum of common sense and decency but so far doesn't look like it.

I don't know what it is about this bank, but they seem to put zero emphasis on customer service.

There never seems to be any discretion or common sense used, even for highly profitable longstanding customers. Trying to get hold of the someone who can help is like trying to find the holy grail. You are passed from pillar to post with repeated people telling you they can't help/it isn't their area.

I would quite like to see some sort of in-depth examination of the way banks (this one in particular) handle CS issues, with a view to the financial ombudsman taking action. It's not just the punitive bank charges that are the problem. It's the way they are applied, the 'stonewalling' attitude when you want to discuss them, the lack of accountability anywhere within the company. Like every business going, they have a duty of care to customers, and as far as I'm concerned, it isn't being met.
  • 14 months ago i sent letter 1 and 2 to lloyds tsb reclaiming £500 in charges and was told to wait.
Last month i saw Martin on the tv and it reminded me about my claim so i sent them another letter to check i was still listed as claiming and not been lost it the system, they replied saying i was still in the system and to just keep waiting!
I am in severe debt and juggling payments to all debts at the moment, how do i go about telling them this, and would it really make a difference to the wait?
Also since the claim was put in i have occured another £330 in fines, do i need to put in another claim for this or does it get added?
    Many thanks xxx

I accidentally exceeded my planned overdraft limit last month causing a number of Direct Debits to bounce. Obviously I put money in there and the payees re-presented and no real harm was done.

Until, that is, I saw the following on today's statement:

    02Jun08
    O/DRAFT INTEREST
    £73.70

    02Jun08
    UNPLANNED O/D FEES
    £67.00

    02Jun08
    RETURNED D/D
    £60.00

How the hell can a bank justify £127 in fees in one month? Especially in the light of the recent "win" against the banks over charges?
