been looking at other forums and foudn info about this..
Social Security Administration Act 1992
although what I have found is very confusing and I'm none the wiser. So does anyone know if I can ring lloydstsb and get my money (or at least some of it) back?0 -
No the Social Security Administration Act is a complete red herring. It has nothing to do with charges raised against people being on benefits being unlawful....which you would see if you had done some research on this site.0

Excuse me, there is no need for that kind of attitude.
I have been doing research on this site, I have been trawling through the forums and no-one seems to actually know. So many people have conflicting veiws and it's very unclear what we actually can and can't do. I've read reports from people getting refunds from their banks after stating the act, and reports of the opposite.
I was simply trying to clear it up in respect of my own situation. Surely this kind of forum is the place to do that?
so I apologise if I am not a 'clued up' as you are. You must understand that it is very confusing, or are you of such a high intellegence you don't need to ask questions eh?

Sarah,
Please ignore that post - not everyone on here is as rude as they so don't let it spoil your enjoyment of visiting this site.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Thankyou. and sorry Renee that your thread ended up like this!
I hope you've managed to get somewhere with lloyds, I'm going into the branch later. I've got a £40 cheque due to clear any day now so I'm ok for now. I can live but i'll have to 'put off' a few bills. I'm still gonna see if I can have some of it refunded at least. it's so hard to juggle everything sometimes.0 -

The question gets asked several times a day! Not an attitude just a touch of frustration.0

On what basis is what I said rude? Merely suggested that a spot of research would be in order.0 -
Hi,
I've got a penalty charges claim against Lloyds that's currently stayed (it's for a loan agreement so it shouldn't be but that's another story!).
Lloyds have been making default marks on my credit file even though the debt is in dispute, they're breaking section 13.6 of the banking code. I've written to them about this and have so far been ignored.
What can I do to take further action against them?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks.0 -

My husband is in exactly the same same boat with Lloyds, although we are not currently claiming any charges back. His Loan account has been in dispute for 8 years! As for writing and them ignoring you they seem to have a habit of doing that, we sent all our letter special delivery and they still don't bother replying and when they do reply you get a standard letter, that has no relevance whatsoever to the letter we send. How about going to the Ombudsman?
