Lloyds TSB

an LBA is the letter before action. Its basically the second letter you send asking them for your money back if they have refused/offered a silly amount after you asked for them back the first time. It gives them 14 days to respond otherwise you initiate a court claim or a claim through FOS. I would certainly include a paragraph stating that someone should have called you by xx/xx/xx and you have received no correspondance from Lloyds. Not sure what advantage this would give you but its worth a shot.0

Have noticed that Lloyds still want to make more money from me!
The new Bank charges reduce my wages even more so have to go in to overdraft......can any one tell me whether the advice given below to me would be correct..
advised by Bank Manager to cancel ALL my Direct Debits and Standing Orders, I would then be written to by these people to offer better ways of paying at dates which I could control :j , to reduce my Bank Charges. Dies this happen or would it be 'Finacial Suicide' ????0 -
Well my head of steam has made me write me LBA and mention their broken promise to me etc....I changed the time for them to reply to 7 days, or I shall be commencing action.....
I'm now reading up as to what action I do need to take in order to go the court route........i'm confused and so angry at Lloyds for the way they've let us down after over 10years loyal service....We dont even use the account anymore(on the advice of Paypan cos of our DMP) but every month they're still hitting us with £300 in charges!!!!! I've told them the DMP is my only way of paying them and could they just stop charging me but was met with a cold hard wall of 'NO'......and so for every few quid I try to pay off it, they wack another few hundred onto the debt.. ..It's a spiral that I believe they have no right to cause......
Thank god for this site and the lovely people who offer advice on it :T :T0 -
I have an account with lloyds tsb and they offered me £2500 which I took however I did not know that they could not charge if account was used for recieving State Benefits .
My Terminally ill son has his DLA money put into it I have told them yet they still charge me what can we do
please help

They can still take charges from income derived from benefits.
Is it possible to open a separate account for your son's payments to go into, with you having power of attorney if he is unable to deal with financial things himself.0 -
Had 2 accounts with Lloyds which went into defualt.
Raised money to make full and final settlement for obviously less than balance. this was agreed and paid aug 2007.

i've seen this on a few threads about lloyds TSB to be honest i don't know how much of a good idea it is, but i've seen at least two other people say this, so you'd imagine that head office (or some big wig) is telling their minions to give this out as advice...
good luck, and gopefully someone with ana nswer will be along shortly...

Hiya all.
My partner is currently reclaiming his charges so thanks Martin Lewis for highlighting it all!!!
Two days ago i went 68p..........68p! overdrawn, for about 14 hours!............and they are charging me £15.00 and a further 'daily charge' of £6.00.
I know in the great scheme of things £21 is not a lot. But this month i have bills galore and that money would have helped
I'm so ANGRY that they are so greedy!!!! I'm tempted to go down there, slam 68p down onto the desk, demand they remove the charge, close down my account and inform them i am going to help ALL my family and friends reclaim their bank charges which will amount to thousands.
Any ideas about what to say to them over the phone?! to remove the charge?.... and stop me getting arrested!

Do you get tax credits? (if you don't mind me asking?)
I'm in a similar situation, I have looked on online banking and because of over £60 charges coming out I have £28 to live on for a week. I get working tax credits and I'm sure I read that they cannot take money from income based benefits. Does this include working tax credits? I want to ring lloyds today as well but I want to be able to spout the act to them. Does anyone know more??0
