    Thanks Aggy. Luckily I already have my personal accounts through which my salary goes with RBS whose customer service at the top is very good. My lloyds current account is never used and both credit cards paid off and closed. I feel they are the worst organisation I've dealt with. I basically copied what I put here and sent it first class today. Just for the record as I known they wont help.

    Hi folks I wonder if someone can help. I'm trying to help my sister claim back her bank charges. I know about the court case etc but thought that I'd get the letters done for her so that when it comes through she sghould hopefully get something back. I have done this for my sister on law with Halifax before the oft stopped the claims and managed to get her over £8k back so I'm familiar with the process etc. However, my sister has given me the list of charges and I'm struggling to be clear about what can be claimed. I've read the list of what you can claim etc but there are somethings Im still unsure about so if anyone can help I'd be grateful.
    The charges/fees that I am unsure about are listed as follows.

    O/D usage fee
    only occurs in 2001 for £20/£25 pounds.
    Account charge occurs monthly for either £4, £5, £7 or £1 (pretty sure this can't be claimed)
    O/D Excess fee occurs randonly , varying amounts

    If anyone can advise me about the above 3 fees I'd be gratful
    Thanks
  • Hey there, I work for LTSB and your sister will not get any of it back...

    O/D Fees : If it is interest it comes as standard with any borrowing from any bank... you cant claim this back. Only way to get round this is not to have an overdraft.;)

    Acct Charge: She has opted for one of our AVA':beer: (Added Value Account) its her choice to have it

    Sorry looks like we have won again lol

    only joking ::j

    Didn't think that the overdraft usage fees and overdraft excess fees are interest? I thought that the overdraft interst was interest? I know she can't claim that back. (Well at least not unless it was caused by a 'fee' sending her into or over the overdraf,t but thats just a bit too complicated to sort out so am not worrying about it)

    The fees I'm talking about say O/D usage fee and O/D excess fee and are for amounts like £25.00 or £30 so I'm pretty sure its not an interest charge?

    Thanks

    Have a look at the Reclaim Charges Help thread in my signature. It includes a list of some of the charge names that people have reclaimed. From what you've described, it sounds like you can ask for the overdraft usage and excess fees back.
  • Im not too sure on what you can & cant, Im on stage 2of claiming charges from the Lloyds & stage 2 on claiming PPI back..Will it do any harm to ask for something that your unsure about? im sure they will tell you that you cant have that bit back..but still give you the rest..??

    Well Well Well, after 6 months of being given the run around I scanned my letter to the CEO Eric Daniels and lo and behold I was called today on behalf of him by a nice lady to help with my non receipt of mastercard statements. Also discussed was reimbursing my phonecalls and hopefully my charges on my visa card which I did receive statements for just no money yet. This lady is investigating and calling me back. Watch this space!!!
