the test case is on Jan 8th 2008 i think, so the time you get the letters to them and them replying ect, it should be done0

My husband and I would like to try to reclaim bank charges on our accounts. We have a current account each and then a joint one between us. We are with LLoydsTSB - i've been with them for 31 years my husband has been with them since 2005 and was with Barclays prior to that. I would like to find out how much I've been charged on my own current account, but can i include our joint account in the same claim? Also, who do we claim against for my husbands current account LLoyds or HSBC?0

I've moved your post out to answer separately. You can send off the first letter requesting the list of charges/statements (SAR request) for both accounts with one £10 cheque for the information you require.
As regards your husband's previous account (Barclay or HSBC?) you would send that initial letter to which ever bank it is, again with a £10 cheque for the information you require.
Have a read of the Reclaim Help thread which is linked in my signature for the addresses you require and further help.0 -
what is everyone thinking the outcome is likley to be?LightBulb Moment - 3rd December 2007

I started claiming my bank charges, which go back more than 6 years (Lloyds TSB) in May but put on hold since OFT test case. Last week i got a phone from a company saying they'll get my charges back for £40, they mentioned something about law change in Jan.
Today i recieved a letter from TSB saying i've been charged £15 plus £15 a day totalling £165, coming out of my account 2nd Jan, they used to only charge £30 for going overdrawn.
I can't afford the charges otherwise i wouldn't of gone overdrawn,
Please help, i can do without this coming upto Xmas.
Many thanks.0 -
This is precisely why the bank charges charter petition was utterly useless in my opinion & thank god it was not a success! Limit the charges to £5? Ok then, we'll charge you £5, and we'll charge it every day. Maybe, we'll charge it 2-3 times a day, you can't argue with that, you agreed to it!
Unfortunately general75, all you can do is open another account with a different bank & transfer your income into that to stop it getting swallowed up in charges. Then you can start the reclaiming process & make your existing bank wait until the outcome of the test case..0 -
to get it sorted quickly i'm thinking of using a compnay to do it for me, the one i've seen does it for nearly 30%, is there a cheaper one.0
