Got this in the post from Lloyds this morning!!!....

    lloyds-charges0.jpg

So by the looks of it they are now charging even more!! The most I was ever charged at any one time was £90, but now if they can charge a maximum of £20 a day for 10 days. So if you go over £100 over your agreed overdraft 10 days before payday, they can charge you £200!!! So that would turn £101 overdrawn into £301 overdrawn!!!!!!! That's gotta be illegal!
Glad I don't actually bank with them anymore.
  • I've applied to reclaim my charges on my Lloyds card - they total over £300. I did the same with my Co OP card and they did refund as a 'goodwill' gesture. But Lloyds have sent me a standard letter, very similar to bank charges refusal letter, saying I agreed in their terms and conditions and as they'd already agreed to the £12 limit I had no right to reclaim.

Some of the charges date from before the £12 limit anyway. What should I do next? Am I likely to get these charges back if I continue?<!-- / message -->
  • Just continue - I actually phoned the number on the letter that I got (sounds like it was the same standard one that you did) and the guy told me to basically write again saying I was not happy with their response and they would look into it again.
Not heard back yet tho so am still at the fingers crossed stage!
  • Thanks, will have to build up strong reserve of coffee or gin to face calling those people again!

Is there any point in taking it to the FOS?

hello everyone hoping someone can give me some advice i put im my claim to MCOL 14days ago today and recieved a letter from northampton county court stating that lloyds tsb had until 24th sept (today) to reply does that mean that is hould of heard from them or is it the court that would of heard from them (im really not sure) also it states on MCOL that i need to tick a box i know i have asked this in a previous thread but now the 14 days has passed im not sure what i have to do the statements are:

Do you wish to enter Judgment by Default or by Admission? Please select one of the options below:
    <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=2 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD colSpan=2>spacer.gif</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top><INPUT type=radio value=Default name=default_admission> </TD><TD>The defendant has not filed an admission or defence to my claim
    (Judgment by Default)
    spacer.gif
You will need to decide, how and when you want the defendant to pay. You can ask for the Judgment to be paid by instalment or in one payment.

    </TD></TR><TR><TD colSpan=2>spacer.gif</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top><INPUT type=radio value=Admission name=default_admission> </TD><TD>The defendant admits that all the money is owed
    (Judgment by Admission)
    spacer.gif
If the defendant has given a new address on the form of admission to which correspondence should be sent, update the defendant's details within the following Judgment request.

    </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

im really not sure what to do and your help and advice would be greatly appreciated im just worried incase i dont do anything that i might mess things up,should i perhaps wait a couple of days to see if i hear anything??? also on MCOL it still stating that the process is 'issued'.
    Thankyou
    vicky

  • Firstly I would like to thank everyone who posts to this board, it's given me the courage to 'take on ' the bank.
Here's how it's going.. Sent my first letter off to Tsb 14 days ago asking for my £2500 pounds(including intrest). They replied bang on 14 days saying
" ...Please get in touch if we've misunderstood your concerns or if you have some more information you want us to have. If we don't hear back from you in the next couple of days, we will carry on with our investigation using the information you've already provided. We expect our inquiries to be completed within the next four weeks but we will try to get our response to you sooner if we can. If there's a delay, we will let you know why and we'll give you an idea of when you can expect to receive a full response to your complaint. I hope we can sort things out for you."
I'm not sure if this letter is good, bad or indifferent. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. It seems to be somewhere between "we'll give you the money" and "no get lost" or is this a standard letter before the "get lost we're not dealing with it 'til the court says we have to" ? This letter came a couple of days after they sent me a leaflet about them changing their bank charges. Good luck to everyone who is taking on the banks.

    Hi Joff,
It looks like a standard "we're investigating" letter, you will probably get one soon that reads "our investigations are taking longer etc", then the next one will say that "due to the test case blah blah blah, we are awaiting the outcome". Just stick to the timetable and carry on.

    Good Luck

  • sorry to be a pain but is that the timetable set out on this site or their 4 week timetable ? do you think it's worth offering to drop the interest charges ? lol to be honest it is scary taking on the bank even though it's the first time I've complained in 15 years.
Thanks for the advice it's nice to know that there are people out there willing to back the 'little man'
