the claim is at the begining. Posted claim with letter the day before the new OFT on hold situation. Unsure what to do now. Do I still go ahead with the 14 day notice? As thought the courts were putting all claims on hold?0

Im in the same boat sent off statements and first letter on the 19th only today recieved OFT letter telling me to wait, unsurprisingly dated 30 july0

I'm in exactly the same boat. Any advice welcome.0

The only thing you can do is complain to the oft fsa and fos to get the stay lifted. I also complained to my MP who was great. If we dont do it it wont be lifted. I have one case with LTSB and one with Barclays......My MP said if we all complain it is likely something will happen0

You need to read Martin's Emergency Guide here...
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges-alert
You should really continue with your claim in the usual fashion and send out the 2 letters giving 14 days each letter and then file with your local court or MCOL. It is up to the judge of your local court as to whether they put a stay on your claim although it is looking like more and more courts are doing so. However if your claim is in the system then interest will be accruing on your claim until your case is heard.0 -
Hiya
today i phoned my bank lloyds tsb as they have a helpline for charges and to see if they could freeze my bank charges. As they have taken £200 this week already left me with zero to live on.They adviced me to claim back my charges over the last 6years.Which ive looked into, its over £1,000.Should i threaten with court action in the letter? As they told me just to write charges, statement no's etc.also should i add interest if im not taking them to court?sorry im abit confused since they set up a helpline are they willing to give back the charges without a fight!!!..could someone give me advise:o0 -
Send them the template letter in Martin's article here...
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges
and no, don't threaten them with court in this first letter but if you get no response after the 14 days you have given them, then you can threaten court. The interest is only awarded by the courts so its up to you if you put it in the first letter or not, Martin explains this in his article.0 -
