Just out of interest!, if you receive an offer, and write back saying, Many thanks I will accept that as part payment, etc, but I am still taking you to court, for the rest. Do the Credit Card Company still have to honour the first offer, while you are taking then to court, or is the offer withdrawn, until it whole matter is settle in court (if it gets that far of course) just a thought!!!... Lilly
  • Can I still send in my claim for unlawful bank charges (£3,500) to my bank, LLoyds TSB? - or as they are part of the OFT test case, does this mean that I'm now too late? I have all my statements for the last 6 years, and was in the course of setting up a parachute account, when I read Friday's announcement .... (sorry, I'm new at this)
  • I received a full and final settlement letter from Lloyds on Monday dated 26th July. I was away on holiday but returned it yesterday Tuesday (recorded) and accepted the refund as it was for the full amount I was asking for. However on checking my account this morning they have placed £750 into my account under goodwill gesture, but there is absolutely no way the solicitor would have received my letter yet as it was only posted yesterday! He should receive it this morning and I have received no other communication from them. I am a little concerned that as they have put this into my account they are going to say 'oh we already gave you money!' and not refund the full amount stated in the letter which was £1354.08, or perhaps it is a part payment. Just concerned as obviously i want to move the money out of my Lloyds account asap and am worried about moving it at the moment incase they say by moving it I accepted it! Is this standard for them to put money in the account without any letter or acknowledgement that I would even accept it! Please advice as quite worried.

Well after Lloyds paying my son out last Friday my husband had the standard letter yesterday saying about the 'putting on hold' pending the outcome of the court case.

We are disgusted at the time they have taken to deal with his claim when they sorted our son's out. They did not reply to my husbands last two letters so he has decided to do a letter to register with them how unhappy he is with how long it has taken them and the fact that they went well over the time limit for getting back to him, and that considering there were time limits on his requesting replies etc he never hear from them.

We were going to proceed soon through the FSO (we cannot afford to go to court) and will put a form in to the FSO anyway, especially as part of our grievance now is the total lack of response from the bank and the time scales they ignored. Where I work we have deadlines to follow when contacting people and if we go over those we are reprimanded.

As we all know, when we owe the banks theres no stopping them taking what they want when they want.
I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.

Hi, can someone give me any advice please. Firstly I have a court date of the 28th August and have, as requested, submitted a list of my charges to the district judge. The question I have is if they haven't asked for a court bundle or any further eveidence do I still send it???

The next thing is I rang SCAM yesterday to see what was happening and they told me they have put all cases on hold until further notice. So do I attend court or not??? They are obviously not going to pay me before hand.

    Any help is appreciated thanks!!!:A

Oh by the way the judge had already put a stay on my case two weeks ago and I wrote back requesting a hearing!!!
